If a GPS gets a factory reset, powered off for months, or powered up again in a different country, it will eventually scan the sky for any satellite it can find, and then download a new almanac and ephemeris - which can take up to 12 minutes after it finds the first satellite. This is best done stationary, to minimize the doppler effect until a fix is acquired.
same problem the acquiring satellites appears with a flashing '?' some where in central london 'horseguard', ......the unit switches on and off i have reset it used hard and soft reset methods.....updated the unit....same problem....
