Stand Alone VCRs do not play pictures on my Insignia 24" TV
I have tried 3 different VCRs hooked up to my 24" Insignia Color Flat Screen TV and can't get any of the my VHS tapes to play on them. The VCR's all worked well with older TVs and when I tried to return the Insignia TV to Best Buys and tried to explain my delimna they tried to blame me, my VCR's or my sanity. . . anything but their stupid TV. Am I crazy or is the newer Insignia TVs not compatible with VCRs by themselves? I need help with this. I bought the TV in Dec. 2007. Thank you so much

Did you try using teh SV cables supplied or the RF cable?
Easier to use the AV Cables. 100% should work. Connect Video OUT of VCR ro VIDEO IN of TV and AUDIO OUT (L) and (R) of VCR to AUDIO IN (L) & (R) of TV. Select AV or VIDEO on TV using TVs remote. Play a Cassette. should work!!

First, I would check the connection to see if everything is in it's proper place and plugged in nice and snug.
Second, I'd try watching something else on the TV and see how it looks, I'd also try watching something using the same cable/input the DVD player is using. If that fails, try a different cable.
If your TV checks out, and it's your DVD player, it might be time to upgrade to Blu-Ray or buy a new DVD player.
Hope this helps, cheers.

It sounds like the electronic ciruitry tha fire the Blue Gun of your CRT is not working. It could be as simple as a cold solder joint in the circuit (very common) or a malfuntioned component. I wouldn't advise repair by yourself due to the High Voltage and the risk of CRT Implosion. Any reputable PC or TV Repair Shop should be able to repair pretty cheap.
Your tv is likely in a different aspect mode (it will probably have 4:3 which is standard for tv, 16:9 which is widescreen). The remote should have an aspect button. Try pressing that at see if the results are what you are looking for.
