The Wizard setting up your dial up connection is going to depend on what Operating System you're running on that PC. As for the dial out number, it is going to be provided by your ISP (internet service provider), if you have other PCs connected via dial up? You can use the same number that the others are using.

Hi,
try using the internet connection Wizard. setup a new account and follow the steps.
Theres also hardware wizards to resolve any conflicts/issues et,c.
If you are asked for a number to access an outside line, leave blank. unless it,s asking for your area dialling code. i.e 0121 0r 0161 et,c ( UK )

Its asking me to write down my K number and name and last name and birthday but the records show the information is wrong. How can i do it to reset it by email instead?

If this is a student E-mail account, you HAVE to call the Help Desk at your School. NO way around that one. And if they are like my college, the help desk hours end by 8 or 10 pm and weekends are only for about 4-5 hours.

I AM UNABLE TO ACCESS INTERNET THRU MY HYBRID APPLE MAC DESK TOP-

Go into network set up a shared Internet connection using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) You can use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) to share an Internet connection among two or more computers on a network. First, you need one computer, called the host computer, that is connected to the Internet and that has a separate connection to the other computers on your network. You enable ICS on the Internet connection. The other computers on your network then connect to the host computer, and from there to the Internet through the host computer's shared Internet connection.
If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might prevent you from completing these steps.
On the host computer (the computer whose Internet connection you plan to share):
  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconClick to open Network Connections.
  2. Right-click the connection that you want to share, and then click Properties.getcontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=signed1 If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click the Sharing tab, and then select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.

How do I network my dell desk top and my dell laptop

If you are planning on networking two computers or more I highly recommend purchasing a wireless router. Once you have a wireless router make sure that you set your network connection settings, your Local Area network or Wireless (whichever you are using), to DHCP. Connect your system to your router and normally that's it. Also normally with a router it would also come with a CD. For setting up your network you could also use that for easy setup.

Dell dimension 3000 won't see wireless network

Hi, I've jst been looking on the web at the Mimo routers, you may find this article interesting, it may help even though its a couple of years old?

http://www.behardware.com/articles/614-2/wi-fi-mimo.html

Pay attention to part about 802.11n compatibility?
Perhaps try changing the IEEE standard on the router to 802.11g in the set up pages, as it may be set at 802.11n, which your older wireless card will not see.

As to the acquiring ip address message, try using a static ip address, here's a good guide:-

Maybe this will help?

Trouble connecting wireless

first thing to do is to dissable the ethernet connection in network connections on your notebook so as the ip address does not conflict.

assuming it's XP and assuming DHCP is enabled in the router settings, right click on your wireless conection in network connections, properties>TCP/IP line, highlight it and then click properties again, then ensure obtain an ip address automatically is ticked, apply and ok, close window.

If neccasary run the wireless network wizard in new connections in network connections.

Open internet explorer>tools>internet options>connections tab and ensure that 'never dial a connection' is ticked, ok and close IE.
Open IE and click refresh a few times.
