Question about Fax Machines

Canon FaxPhone B95 Instruction Manual has been lost. There is no dial tone and I cannot switch the Fax on.

Okay, If there is no dial tone then you either have a dead line or have plugged the phone line in the wrong spot. There is two places to connect the phone line one is marked L and the other shows a phone or says phone it needs to be in the L which stands for Line in.and as far as switching it on do you mean you have it plugged in and when you switch it on nothing happens or...please be more descriptive so i can better help you.

Inoperative fax and telephone line


try connecting line 2 to a simple phone and chk for dial tone.

Fax screen reads Line in use


Make sure the phone line coming from the wall is plugged into the jack marked "L". The other jack is for connecting an answering machine or another phone.

Canon faxphone l80 error tx report tx function was not completed


call the other fax machine with a cell phone, listen for fax tones.
plug a regular phone in the jack to check for a dial tone.
make sure phone cord is plugged into the LINE port of yhe fax machine.

No dial tone, clicking sound


It most likely is the LIU (Line Interface Unit). or you might have it plugged in the wrong port on the fax itself. Make sure it's plugged into the LINE plug. If it's the LIU it would be cheaper to replace then calling for service. Unless it's under warranty still (usually 90 days)
