There is no fuse that you can change and power supplies in computers are complex. They send signals out to make sure that the voltage is stable before sending the full power and other signals. Replace the whole power supply. It is the cheapest thing you can do

Won't start and getting long beeps. compaq presario 6370

Hi,

The beeps that you are hearing might indicate that your computer has a bad RAM or memory modules already. Reseating the memory modules might resolve the problem. That means you have to remove then place back the RAM. The full instructions in installing memory modules can be viewed from this LINK and should give you an idea how to remove and place them back. If the problem persists, replace RAM/memory module.

I hope this works for you. Kindly comment for further assistance. Thanks for using Fixya!

INSTALLED NEW RAM UPGRADE TO BOOST FROM 1G TO 2G COMPUTER DOES NOT RECOGNIZE NEW RAM STILL SHOWS 1G.

Make sure it is the correct ram for your computer. If you just added one ram chip then try swapping them and make sure they have a tight fit.

To test the new chip replace the old one with it and turn on your machine. If it doesn't see it then it is either bad or not the correct one.

Let me know how it goes.

What is total of ram memory, for sps-bd 1394 motherboard

Your manual should tell you how large a chip can be put in. It's usually either 1G strips or 2G strips. You have to do some homework.

How do i add a stick of ram to my pc into the mother board

amy,
  1. Just find out the RAM inside and see carefully. In both end there are locks. Slighly push it outward both locks, and your RAM will be out.
  2. To insert, see care fully it will fit in only one way, see the DIMM connection point and your RAM stick carefully, you can easily recognize the right way. So just put it inside the slot and you will see lock will be automatically closed. be sure that lock were open before inserting the RAM Stick.
If any problem just ask me.
Please post your feed-back.
Thanks
Iqbal

Adding a graphics card

You should be OK with the graphics card as long as you choose a PCI-e version. If you are confident enough to change the power supply and the RAM you are OK to do a graphics card. If your power supply is at least 350W you should be OK. The HP website does not specify what the power supply is so I cant advise on this. The graphics you mention is not graphics but the chipset on the motherboard. If you seat the graphics card securely without too much force and then power up your pc and load the drivers from the disk which comes with the card you should have no problems.
