U've got hardware failure , its the backlight capacitors and combiners...that are faulty ( repair needed).,,or your flex.( the connector between your board and lcd) ......replace the flex will solve your problem.or the lcd itself (replacing will solve the problem), those tree play the major part on your problem..gotta go to u'r nearest center to fix that.. but only one of them are faulty nt that all...

Hi,

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Motorola Razr cell phone

You didn't mention what carrier you have.

For Verizon:

1. Go to "Settings & Tools"
2. Scroll down & select on "Initial Setup"

You will see a setting called "Backlight". You will be able to set it 5, 10 and 20 seconds.

Good Luck!

Motorola V3 Razr Keyboard will not light up

Are you getting sounds from the dial pad? It should default to momentary lighting, but it can be adjusted for longer time. It sounds faulty, did you purchase a refurb?
