Question about IBM ViaVoice Standard Millennium Edition 1 (11K6157) for Mac

1 Answer

Installation no longer allowed.

I hope you can help me.
I initially bought the ViaVoice software form y old Mac G3, and it worked fine.  Now I've upgraded to a G4 and on trying to install, am getting the following  error message after it asks for my name.  I have  tried all the names I might have used back then and now, (my maiden name etc) and am not sure if the name is like a password or what.  It is after entering my name in the required field that I get the error mesage and access to installation denied.
Error Message 10089:,-5000 on trying to install
If you can help, I'd be most grateful.
thanks

Thank you.  This may be helpful.  I'm looking for a

way to download it from the Internet, -for free if
possible.  I've already paid for the software and
don't want to pay again, especially if it doesn't
work.  I've seen ads for "freebies" that ask you
to enter all kinds of information and sign up for
people to call you with all kinds of products, and
I'd like to avoid this too.  Any suggestions for
where to download the software without paying much
or offering all my personal information on the internet?

    Thanks!

I have mounted a new 40GB on my imac G3 and wanted to install OS ssw 9.0.4 on it, but at start up from the CD, it booth up to where it suposed to show the os type having this icon like a human faced pc at...

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support, I am glad to assist.

The "human face" icon is an indication that your hard drive is not being recognized by your iMac G3 because the hard drive is not formatted to read the Mac OS 9 software.

What you need to do is initialize your hard drive so you can
it can read the Mac OS 9.0.4 software.

Below, I have provided a link with simple steps to properly initialize (format) your 40GB hard drive

Initializing a hard disk, cartridge, or optical disk

Follow these steps and you will be able to successfully install Mac OS 9.0.4 to your Mac G3 hard drive.

I hope this helps.

My ibbok 3g wont play dvds or youtube? help

Many iBook G3s came with optical drives for CDs only, not DVDs; and the decoding software for many of today's popular video formats runs extremely slow on all G3 processors. It's not clear that there is anything wrong with your computer other than its age. The first iBook G3 models were ten years old last February.

Ibook wont log onto my network

I ran into this with my home network and my old g3 ibook needed the older speed wifi to connect. I found my old wifi router, hooked an ethernet cable to the newer router (in a regular ethernet port) and connected the other end to the internet port on the old one... they linked and worked fine to provide wifi for the old G3's ..

Install new program

I take it that you just want to run 10.3 and no longer require OS9.
After starting from the OSX install disc, run Disc Utilities. Form there you can erase the hard drive. You should then be able to install OSX.

I have a mac G3, and have os x ver. 10.3.9 I just bought the logitech E3560 webcam, how can I install it? It's not loading anything from the installation disk!

It sounds like your camera is not compatible with Mac OS. The disc may only have the software for Windows. Go to Logitech web site and see if you can find the software for Mac.
