There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor going bad...

My ler7646eq2 will not start, button makes a click noise when I push it in, and I can here the timer making noise. But the dryer doesn't come on.

The capacitor is probably bad. The relay is still working that is why you can hear a click noise. It won't come on since the motor needs to have enough voltage from the capacitor to initialize. Good luck.

Heat unit comes on w/o pushed start button

I would check your heating element. It may have grounded to the metal casing. Unplug dryer!!!! Check continuity by ohmning out to one end of element terminal to casing of element. You should not have any continuity. You need to check both terminal ends. (Red Wire) If it has continuity replace it . It is grounded out.It could also be your motor block but this is very uncommon. Hope this helps!!
