HI,

Here are few troubleshooting steps you can try:

1)In your print properties you may need to adjust the paper settings to reflect the size and finish of the paper.

if you are using a 4 x 6 paper you want to make sure that the slide is all the way over to fit the paper properly and that you have the paper size set to 4 x 6

2)take apart your printer and make sure the paper feed rollers roll.

3)
Turn off the printer.
Open the printer door.
Remove the Cartridge.
Look down behind the cartridge, there's a small white roll. Try playing with it. move it back and forth. try emptying the paper tray and place it back in the printer.
Turn on the printer.

If you still face the problem then you will have to call a tech to fix it.

Goodluck,
Please don't forget to rate the solution.

Most such printing problems stem from incorrect paper types or paper loading. Make sure that your paper is loaded properly, and that the paper type is made for your specific printer.
If paper is not feeding properly into the printer, the problem may stem from hardware failure. Check the feed assembly to see if all the parts are in working order. You may be able to manually advance the paper in order to see which component may be failing. If necessary, clean the paper pickup rollers to make sure the paper path is free of sticky dirt and debris.

Am I correct in thinking that the roller spins and tries to pick up the paper but it won't catch (maybe you can't even see it)? If this is so, try cleaning off the roller with a cloth to get off everything that has collected on it. If this doesn't help let me know.

If you can give me more information about this, I can further assist you and let me know how the above information worked out for you.

Thank you for using Fixya and Good Luck!

Possibly a paper jam? Make sure that nothing is interfering with the gears that provide the pover to the pieces that pick up the paper.

The feed rollers need to be replaced. The squeak is the worn rollers sliding over the edge of the paper.

Rollers not picking up the paper or picking too many pieces at once.

Pickup rollers can be easily replaced if you want to try that first. But the other noises could point to stripped gears or a different problem internally

Canon IR2000 feeder noise

uhm i know that the reset function helps when on the control pannel display is displayed with the error code E000, but what was said from the noise the copier makes when it copies, i would say that the pick up paper assembly, will stop working, if u have other trays in your copier, try coping from there and see if it makes the same noise, if not..then probably, u have to replace that part soon " pick up paper assembly" am not an expert, but i also have one, and some things i've seen with it:)

Grinding noise during warm up. Tells my theres no paper but there is

That is the fuser drive gear. It wears out and needs to be replaced.
That causes a vibration and will cause your low paper message falsely.

You may have to use a true Brother toner cartridge as I have the same problem with me MFC 8500. If I use a compatible cartridge it clicks and if I use a geniune Brothr cartridge it does. Brother direct brought this to my attention.

On the control panel for the printer, there's a Feed Switch button that's easily touched by accident. Ensure the Feed Switch is set to the paper source you're using (e.g. either the back or front). The graphic of the printer next to the Feed Switch button will light up to indicate the paper tray it's attempting to use.

Canon PC920 paper feed "clacking" & not working.

check the tray and make sure the guides are set correctly, clacking sound is usually because the tray is set for Legal and has Letter, the paper is towards the bac of the tray and the pick up assembly is making the noise,
otherwise the tray is either not going up (broken gear, )
