Your computer came with a restore cd I am sure, so you can get vista back later if you need.

Here is a tutorial made just for you. You will need to own an XP CD. pre
-installed-windows-vista-computer/">http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/install-windows-xp-on-your-pre-installed-windows-vista-computer/

You can buy laptop coolers almost anywhere for $20 to $30. They will get hot. I try to keep my laptop on a flat open surface to allow maximum air flow. Setting it on you lap insulates it and it gets warm. Nothing out of the ordinary.

You may be able to download an updated driver from HP that will fix your web cam problem. There may also be another program running that is trying to manage the web cam also. Take a look at your running programs and close any that are related to the web cam and see if you error still occurs.

    Mohd,

sorry I missed that you mentioned the hard drive problem in your first poast ;).

First of all Take a look at this page:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

What is happening is your hard drive is to new for XP, Xp doesn't know how to see it. To fix this problem you will need to identify the brand & model of your hard drive. (fujitsu, WesterDigital, Seagate, etc). After doing so visit your brands website and find the drivers for your model. I am assuming that you will be running into a lot of problems with all of your hardware.

    I reccoment:

Have you thought about using VirtualMachine to run XP? This free handy program will creat another computer within your system. Install Windows XP onti it. (This is going to be your best solution. This will allow you to get the most out of your system while still providing you with an XP interface as well for functionality.)

Here is a tutorial if you want to try that.

    http://lifehacker.com/software/windows/g...

Otherwize figure out what hardware is in your sytem (starting with the hard drive) Post it and lets get busy finding drivers.

How do i reboot my aspire 5920

Hi,

to my best knowledge the preloaded os is Vista Home Premium so if you need to reboot your system you need to goto the start menu and select reboot...

alternatively you can do this also by entering the following code in the RUN....

shutdown -r -t 0

you can get the run by pressing 'windows key+r'

VAIO VGN-AR630E Drivers for Vista Ultimate

Vista Home premium drivers will work perfectly with Windows Vista Ultimate. When installing Vaio event service and Vaio Control center make sure that you run setup file as administrator. Right-click the setup file and select option "run as administrator". By reinstalling utilities this way they will work perfectly well

The product key on the label on the bottom of the laptop will only work for the version of Windows that was installed on that laptop.
You can purchase an upgrade Windows Vista Ultimate and to use in conjunction with the existing Vista Home Premium.

Have you tried a new power AC/DC convertor ? make sure you have the correct spec...see manual for power adaptor needed. Cost less if you can get a loan of one. other than this i would be looking into checking the power jack. hope this helps

you can make a dual book (multi OS) on your laptop so that you can just switch over to XP or vista and vice versa.

try this article on MS on how to install a multi OS. i haven't tested it in vista though...but i think it would work..please let me know.

also..you can use a Virtual PC and install XP there, its much more easier.
