just going completely black....as if it was on stand by...if i'm playin music too it freezes the music showing the pc has crashed ...i looked at the trouble shooting tipson my samsung CD and it said something to do with graphics frequencies..if that helps in anyway...

I have the same problem. Whenever I unplug the DVI cable from the monitor it displays the "no signal" box but if I plug it in, it goes back to the black screen with the flashing light. My video card is fairly top notch and everything works fine with any other monitor I've tested with.

Could be a number of things.

The light flashing could mean the monitor is losing the video signal.

If restarting is helping, I would look at the video card (if the PC doesn't have on-board video). It may have an option card installed, and it is overheating, thus dropping the video to the monitor.

Is the "no signal" box coming up, or just going black?

Similar problem with Samsung Syncmaster T260 at 1920x1200 on HIS Radeon X1950XTX video card. Black horizontal stripes lasting 1/60th of a second or so every few seconds, then black screen for 2 seconds, then fine again.

I Set the catalyst control center control panel for the graphics card to Alternate DVI operational mode under the Digital panel attributes item. Setting the screen to 1600x1200 also seems to stop it doing this. BUT...it didn't used to do it. Bought it in November, and it didn't start doing this until late January. Go figure.

Does not turn on

Hello

With any monitor, check the following to determine if the issue is MONITOR related or COMPUTER related.

1. Verify the monitor is receiving power - use a known good power outlet and plug it into the monitor

2. Samsung monitors have a light on the power button - are you getting any color light from this? Orange means it is in "stand by" mode and is waiting for the PC to send it a signal. Green means the monitor is getting a signal from the PC and the monitor is on.

3. With the monitor on, press the buttons on the monitor to bring up the OSD (on screen display) that changes the monitor settings. If you have a green light on the power button and press one of these buttons (AUTO works best), this will display the monitor adjustment options on the screen.

If you see the on screen adjustments, your monitor is working and the issue may be with your PC. Move the monitor to another PC and verify the monitor is working correctly.

IF you don't see anything on the screen and the power light is green, the monitor has failed.

This could be the lights that illuminate the screen have failed (something that happened to my Samsung Syncmaster monitors after about 6 years of use) or the screen has stopped functioning. In either case, replacement parts are hard to find and a monitor swap is likely.

Sounds like your monitor has croaked. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend or family member just to see if it works. If it works, your monitor is bad. If the borrowed monitor has the same issues then your Video Card in the computer is bad and needs to be replaced.

Samsung syncmaster 953bw

Oct 23, 2009- This is how it went for me..I have a Samsung SYNCMASTER2.gif 2053BW. I leave my monitor on and let it hybernate when I shut down PC. I'm 3 months outside of my warranty. Two weeks ago something started happening. I boot PC and video doesn't come up for 10 minutes, and when it came up it worked perfect. VC/Monitor/MB?? It became 20 minutes and ...now..I have the analog/digital box in top left screen, power light on monitor flashing, no menu available on monitor and none of the other buttons work for anything. I test the monitor on Laptop..nothing(same as above)..I break out the old(working) monitor from deep within the closet. Plug it in and I'm up and running. So...

HOW TO OPEN A SYNCMASTER 2053BW

NO SCREWS!!! Assuming that the stand mount has been pulled out..The seam around the screen frame is where you start. The frame has the prongs, the back cover has what the prongs slip over. The frame is coming off first! I got the side to open by finger, then used a small standard screwdriver to pry ever so gently(lifting frame from rearcover). Leave the power button assembly on the frame, pull wire only a little to relax any tension..you get about 3/4" in extra taped to panel. The hard part is done.;) Still holding the frame...Now lift the panel (where the power button assembly wiring goes under panel) with the power housing that is under it as a whole and you will see where the powerbuttonassemble detaches.Remove frame. Now..holding edges of panel into back cover, lift and flip the whole thing over and place panel face down on a perfectly flat surface..a towel on my desk works. Lift and remove back cover.Your now looking at the back of the board housing. The ribon is simple, on the panel end of the ribon, squeez the outer clips together and slide it away against the panel..The secondary tin plate is removable, two clips super close to where the sets of wires come around the housing and into the panel.Unhook the 4 plugs(pink inside/blue outside)...Now lift the power housing off of the panel. The big board has the power. One screw to remove a ground plate first. Two screws to remove power board. Pics from phone.56ec44b.jpg

Reassemble but DO NOT re-snap the frame into place....yet... Test it! There is a reason the caps got hot in the first place, therfore it has a good chance of happening again. This is not fullproof...but.....mine has been on now for close to 6 hours with no glitches whatsoever. So I have resnapped mine back together. I hope you can too. Oct 23, 2009- I must also add that this is one of the best producing monitors I have ever seen...in 60hz. The clarity is top notch. If you purchase one get the extended warranty. FYI...I paid $4.00 for those caps.

Repair samsung SyncMaster 175v lcd flat screen went black right after it start

usually that is an indication that the back lights on your monitor is not illuminating your screen.... here's a test start up your machine and look at the monitor real close.... or shine a flash light at it... you may see your desktop afintly... which means your monitor may need a new inverter board or possible to change some capacitors on it.

you can also try another monitor just to make sure it is ur monitor which is problematic
