Question about Symantec Norton AntiVirus 2004 - (Open Box) for PC

My antivirus seems to be working against me!!!

I play a lot of games online, but yesterday when I tried to play a game my antivirus blocked it. So, like I have done in the past, I disabled it for the time being (I know, totally bad thing to do, but I did it). Then, once I had downloaded the game I turned the antivirus back on and everything ran fine. Then, later I tried to play another game and a message came after dl it and it says, "C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\VPC32.exe The requested resource is in use." I then tried to disable my antivirus and it told me, "Symantec AntiVirus cannot enable or disable auto protect. You may need to provide Symantec AntiVirus with administrator privelages." What does this mean?? I can't even open up my AntiVirus software because I keep getting this message!!!

Plz don't use symantec its very slow antivirus pc perfoming is very slow by using this antivirus....
u can use nod32 and avgfree antivirus it's available on internet.....

Solution for that? restart your computer. youve activated the norton firewall to automatically block some games that uses ports, thus it seems youve created a "confusion" inside the norton system.

do a restart . if its still there... uninstall and re-install is the only solution.

Hello hawk893

Are you logged into a Windows profile w/ Administrator privileges?

If not, change your user profile rights to Administrator (from another Administrator profile).

If the problem persists, enter Safe Mode and try enabling and disabling NAV (Norton Antivirus) from there.

If the problem still persists, you may have picked up a virus that disabled your AV software. You can go HERE if you like to perform an online AV scan. There are other sites as well that will do this for you. Just perform a search engine search on "Online AV Scan".

i got the same problem only with my ps3 it froze while i was playing black ops online so i turned off the power n after i restarted my ps3 he could not read any game discs anymore, im now busy with reformatting my ps3 i dont know about the xbox but maybe u also have the abbility to reformat ur system if so do it but put ur saved files on a usb stick or on somthing els cus u will loose everything but ur system gets a clean start and it checks for system errors wich come by shutting off the power wile it was not ment to and fixes them

When I try and run the game I get an error message


For that first you need to uninstall completely from computer.
Click here
Click on above link download revo then install it in computer then run it then select your games and uninstall .
Remove registry keys when it ask for remove .
Then reinstall games from disk or download it from internet .
If you play online games then turn off the firewall of windows and antivirus because it blocks games or you need to open port in your router to play games.
Scan computer with updated antivirus too.

I am unable to play online games because they are blocked


1.) Talk with primary computer user. Whoever setup the computer firewall. Ask them for help. If it was you, then the Antivirus or Firewall software you are using is blocking the games.
2.) Call the Online Gaming Company let them know that you cannot get to their site. The have undoubtedly encountered your exact problem before. and they want you to use their site so they will be eager to help.
3.) If unsolved, check with gaming company to seef if any ports need to be open, or settings enable to make their site work. Call tech support for your Antivirus and/or Firewall company and they can help you very easily (they know their software better than anyone) to give you access to gaming site.

I have had my ps3 for four months and it works fine. I just bought the new call of duty five yesterday and it played awesome. I went to turn the ps3 on right now and I click through the multiplayer, online...


a lot of problems with the new COD5...update firmware to2.52...cod5 is very cpu intensive..you may have overheated your CELL cpu...let it cool and try again
