- i have a sony KP-51WS500 HD tv and when i turn it on i will get a picture with over-saturated blue, quickly turning into solid blue, than shuts off. i get an error code 5 after. i looked inside and there is alot of dust. i remember researching the error and finding something about the D board being the cause of the problem- techphillJan 22, 2009

- I have same problem with tv fashing blue screen and turning off after a minute or two. It sometimes takes 5-10 starts and 10 minutes to get it to stay on. TV is a Solny KP-51HW40. Can you help with the fix?Jim- jbarenie

- I have Mitsubishi VS-50802 50 in. rear projection and the TV works fine for a short while then the screen flickers blue, goes all blue then fades and the TV shuts it self off. Any suggestions?- mzegarskiBest Solution

post your model. Sounds like the blue CRT is shorted. But let me know the model and I will let you know how to test it.

My t.v. works fine when turned on I get picture of what I'm watching but ever so often blue light/blotches flashes through the screen in various areas of the screen while I'm watching t.v. The t.v. does stay on and I still see picture but with blue flashes of light coming in and out of the picture.
It seems to get worse as time goes by. I have a Samsung rear projection t.v. Please help.

set comes on and works for less than a minute flashes blue and goes off sometimes screen is blue when set is off. it will not stay on/

I have the same problem...Turn TV on...have sound and picture for about a minute...flashes blue, goes blue screen, and then quits. In addition, for about two years I have had red curvy lines across the screen...paid $2400 for this TV about 6 years ago...not very happy with the product...unusual for Sony.

i have had the same issues with my tv the first time it was the red tube and know it is the blue tube, i believe i will be looking for a new tv 500.00-700.00 to repair is not worth it , i think that sony should be recalling or stand behind there product this is a big expense on a 4-5 year old tv. i will be looking at a different brand that's for sure .

I have similar problem with my KP57WS500 Sony TV. When I turn it on, a green squiggly line appears, then disappears, followed by full blue screen falashhes, then quites. light flashes 8 times on front panel. Is it doomed, or can I save it? I am mechanically inclined and can follow a troubleshooting tree if provided.
