Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool : Download
Download the above software, Run it and press Continue to perform diagnostic. At Validation status if it shows Genuine then your operating system is genuine otherwise not.
Your question isn't very clear, but Geniune Advantage is Microsoft's attempt at stopping software piracy. If you have Windows XP, this was released as a Windows update a few years back. I am pretty sure it was built into Vista when Vista was released.
The Genuine Advantage checks back with Microsoft to make sure that your CD key is valid. In addition, it uses an algorithm of information from your PC parts to create a sort of signature file that Microsoft maintains. This is so that you can't buy one copy of Windows and install it on 10 machines.
Once you run the Genuine Advantage software and register your PC and Windows install with Microsoft, it shoudn't bother you again unless you do some major hardware upgrades.
You can't uninstall the genuine advantage software. You have two choices:
Speak with your computer supplier and ask why you are not running genuine software or, if you have a Certificate of Authenticity attached to your computer, contact the Microsoft Activation hotline and ask for a replacement product key. This may entail paying for a new licence.
Well if you have already accepted the Geniune Advantage Check or Validation, then turning it off might be impossible until you get a genuine copy.
To Turn it off, you have to re-installing a fresh copy and dont accept the Check Windows Geniune Advantage Validation tool or messaeg when an update of such appears unless you're sure you have a geniune copy
