Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook

Blue keys 2

How do you turn on the number key pad (blue numbers)?
Comment by dancer54, posted on Apr 04, 2008 I tried it - Did not work for me. Do I have to be in a certain program? I can not get the blue numbers to unlock. I pressed the Fn and the Num Lk keys at the same time - nothing changed on the screen, when I tried the numbers, only the lower case letters belonging to the key printed on the screen. I'm not doing something right??

Can someone out there give me a free solution? It seems odd that I would have to purchase the Premium Assistance plan for such a simple operational question.

If you press the Fn and Num Lock at exactly the same time, it usually won't work. Hold down Fn key first, then press Num kock. See if that works.

Key pad? Do you mean the keyboard or what?

Where is num lock key on Dell 5030

If there is no NumLock key then pressing the Fn (Function) buttonshould enable the number pad on the keys that have the Blue numbers onthem. On most laptops (dont know your model) there is a numlock key asthis allows the user to type numbers with two hands and not keep oneholding the Fn button. You would normally press the Fn button and theNumLock option to switch it on and every time you pressed the keys withthe numbers on it would use the number not the letter, pressing the Fnkey with NumLock on would normally allow the letter to be used withouthaveing to disable the NumLock.
This assumes of course that the normal letters are stamped with thenumbers on, if not it is most unusual, I don't think I hav eseen alaptop keyboard without numbers or the NumLock / Fn options. There areUSB number pads available that you can buy, these simply plug in to anavailable USB port and it is like an extension of your keyboard.

Number pad

You can't make the alternate characters like °, ®, ♂, σ etc with a combination number pad. You need to have a seperate number pad. I use a $20 plug in keyboard.

Keyboard letters coming in to numbers

Generic comments

Are you using a lap top? If so ... the is a probability you have the num lock on which turns certain keys into numbers (they have little blue numbers on the keys) so you can use the "key pad" in the middle of your keyboard. Press the Fn (probably blue too) and num to turn this off.

If you are on a desk top ... you are going to have to look in the help section of your software for an answer to this problem'

Sorry, I tried :-)

Blue numbers

Make sure Num Lock is on (the light belonging to numlock is on).
Then use Fn + Keys with a blue number on it to use the keypad.
Make sure you hold the fn-key, for each number you want to type...
If this doesn't work, try Fn + Esc. If your laptop goes to standby mode, The Function key is allright, and there is another problem. If it does not work, your keyboard may not be installed probably, or may be defect.
Please post some feedback,

Good luck

TV's on. No Picture...No Sound

Have a problem with Zenith 37 HDTV. Medel number: Z37LZ5D As wathcing TV, along with 'pop' sound, TV went dead. LG service center gave an advice to unplug the power cord and press ON/OFF power switch about 1 min. Then plug power back and turn on the TV. Well, the green light blink for a while and solid green, but still no screen, no audio. Search the Web and someone suggested to replace Power Supply Board which will fix the problem. Again, search the Web and came out with Power Supply Board. LG Electronics/Zenith 'Power Supply Assembl' with $124.95 from PartStore.com. Is it the right solution? Do I have to replace entire Assembly Board? not just replacing some fuse? Any cheaper way to do? If I have to replce PSA board, any suggestion to how? Comment posted on Apr 22, 2009 I have a basic knowledge of electric and electronics, such as rewiring entire house for renovation and assemble entire computer from scratch.
Actually, the TV belongs to my father and the problem that I stated was based on what he told me.
So the question is based on the symptom that I posted, how sure are you that the problem is the Power Supply Board?
Is it good to order PSB? Comment posted on Apr 23, 2009 Purchased 2 and half years ago. Expired one year warranty. Comment posted on Apr 23, 2009 Zohail,
This is LCD TV.
There is no problem with the wall socket nor current.
I put other appliances on same wall socket and worked.
It has to be internal problem.
As I mentioned on the main post, there was a 'pop' sound while watching and TV went dead.
Turn on remote control, there is blink green light and then green stays on, but no sound, no screen.
Turn off remote control, light turns red. Comment posted on May 14, 2009 I fixed the TV.
Orderd power supply board which cost me $136.51 total.
Replacing was simple.
Just removed the rear panel cover then electronic board housing cover.
Took power supply board with all the connector cables and replaced with new one.
Problem was a transformer connector which got burned and blow up the plastic cover.
But no problem with fuse and capacitors.

Thanks all for advises.
