Hi, Firstly do one thing take a backup of the existing Data. This can be done from Start=>programs=>Xbackup=> choose the desired data i.e. All data or Contacts & appointments. (I forcefully recommend to take Contacts & Appointments) It will take 5 to 10 Min. Remove the Menory Card. After this takes palce, with help of your Stylus press the Reset Button (found at the down end of ur PPC next to the Handsfree Jack.) The Phone will restart with the Factory Settings & will take time. Now after the PPC completely boots check the performance. after scan your memory card with the help of a Personal computer antivirus software & only then restore the data in the similar fashion from the Xbackup utility=>restore.
Note : After restoring the data if the same problem occurs then please again reset the phone & donot Restore your data as it may be corrupt.

Try doing a cold reset ( no data loss) disable the battery by sliding out and then back in, the battery pin at the back base of the phone without removing the battery PLS do not remove the battery!!!!.
If that dosen't work then you may need to remove the battery and do a default reset (you loose your phone settings) you should back up your data first before trying this.
Your initial settings may have been lost if you didn't back them up in an mmc card using the top slot compartment of the phone sorry! Whenever you remove your battery from the phone for more than 2-3 mins the phone goes to a default reset mode and on start up will start to re-install all the default features including the Arabizer which is due to the fact that the phone was designed in the UAE,you however can reject this installation whenever your default startup commences, and still enjoy your phone.
If you have an mmc card then after the phone has fully rebooted at default settings. Go to the phone settings page and select the "phone backup" option this enables a restore or backup option. If you have already backed up the data before, click on restore. All your settings will be restored. If not you will need to make new settings for your phone and then back them up this time.
Also for your phone contacts there is a "permanent restore option" at the "Phone settings" display. click on this option after you have entered your phone details and it will permanently save all your phone nos regardless of any kind of reset. If you did'nt do this earlier i'm sorry, your phone nos are lost also.
7610i and N70 are two different versions of the Symbian S60.
I do not believe that the backup data from the 7610i and the N70 are compatible. As the S60 firmware of the N70 has been updated a great deal.
The solution is most likely, the hard way, typing in all of the contacts and appointments from scratch. Either using your computer or your phone.
Once Options are selected, they will be remembered (unless hard reset or total loss of battery power), so there is no need to select Options each time iPAQ Backup is used. In the case of hard reset or complete loss of Battery power, the options setting will require resetting.
If an ipaq loses power , then all data in RAM is lost. It's important to keep it charged.
It's also important to do regular backups.....
so there are two backup options - one is thru Activesync which will backup to your PC and one is the IPAQ's own backup program which will backup to the IPAQ FILE STORE (area in ROM) or a SD card.
I do the Activesync backup every time I sync and then the IPAQ backup about once a week or immediately before a system change.
Here is a guide which best explains it
this guide suggests doing a full backup, but it's fine to do an incremental backup each sync - this means that only changes will be added to your backup and makes the whole process much quicker.
So under Programs is a program called IPAQ Backup. The default location is IPAQ FILE STORE which is an area in ROM and is not lost thru a power failure nor hard reset.
You may also choos to backup to a SD card - a full backup will need roughly 20MB. So in this backup procedure, if you click on 'Browse' you can choose a SD card.
A restore can then be performed from the IPAQ FILE STORE or SD card (depending on which location you chose) and so if you are away from your PC, this will be no problem. A restore this way , rather than thru Activesync is also much quicker, so if you have a choice go this route.
