Fault developed after replacement of bulb. Projector fires up, works OK for about 1.5 hrs, then shuts down with red status light flashing 6 cycle (lamp error). The suggested fix is to wait a minute and turn on again, but the projector will not refire until switched off from power for some time. It then works again fine for about 1.5 hrs. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

obviously what is causing the unit to shut down is due to overheating, that is your protection. the question is why does it overheats. maybe your colling fan fliter is blocked. better chek that filter and make sure it is free from dust accumulation. If that's cleaned and still the same, maybe it is your board that's why your original bulb got busted that you had it replaced. better go for the units check then or it will again damage your newply replaced bulb.

Hi Matt
There might be a couple of reasons for this problem.
Best is to start with the lamp - return the lamp to whoever you bought it from and insist on a another new one.
If the problem still occurs you should rather take the unit to a repairer - because it could be the Mainboard or the Ballast ( lamp's powersupply ) that is faulty and will need replacement or repair.
Check if your unit is under warranty - because the replacement of a Mainboard is quite expensive.
