Question about Cameras

I just bought an Audio Technica brand microphone for the Panasonic DVC20P. The mic works but the sound only comes out of the left ear. The camera's built in mic does not have this problem.

Make sure that you have a stereo plug on the microphone to be able to get both channels.

If you have one like the one on the picture, I would suggest to check a replacement.

The microphone sounds defective, I would just return it and get a new one since you just bought it. If the second one has the same problem let me know but if a different mic works with both speakers then the new mic should be the problem

Please keep me updated, thank you

if it plugs into the line in or mic in using the 3.5 mm plug then no, the mic won't need a driver. Your playback and recording devices on your computer DO need drivers. Sounds like a computer config issue to me. Could be a few different things

This mic has a 10db pad or attenuator switch near the bottom of the barrel... make sure you haven't accidentally engaged it.

If that's not.... it try changing the lead. Also the power supply on your preamp could be failing.
These are a few cheap things to try before spending money for fixing.

My church bought 4 audio technica free way 700 series microphones about a year ago and from the beginning we had problems with them. Now only one of them is working! There is no warranty and we really need...

Audio Technica is generally a good brand name in microphones, but sometimes if you talk to musicians they tend to favor names they are familiar with like Sure. In the church, school, venue world, audio technica is respected. I work audio in three separate venues and we have no trouble with our audio technica microphones.

Have you adjusted the channels--and have you tried to do so manually? Have plugged the working one into the same inputs the nonworking ones were plugged into? I know it sounds like a simple thing to ask, but sometimes the connections to the sound board are the issue. If you have the more advanced receiver for the freeway 700, there are other adjustments designed to allow you to adjust between guitar and voice. If it is preset to guitar it will not sound good for voice. You may have to change that. I am assuming you put in new batteries, but ifyou have not, you may want to try that as wireless mics use up batteries quickly.

Those are a few possibilities. If it is the actual unit, then you can look inside and see if something is loose, but as far as repair, that gets into a whole issue. Hopefully something above helps solve the problem

Microphone

It really depends on where you will be using the microphone and and whether it is just going to be used for fun at home or in a club oor for recording?

Some golden rules for microphone selection.
1) Make sure the microphone is Uni-Directional. This means it will only pick up sound from the direction it points in. You are less likely to get feedback or background intereference.
2) For a vocalist, make sure the mic is a reasonable size. If it is too small and you need to hold it, after a while it becomes fiddly and uncomfortable.
3) When singing always use a foam hood or pop filter with the microphone. This will reduce explosive sounds on the letter "P" etc.
4) Choose a microphone with a wide frequency response but not too much bass which can make vocals sound boomy.
5) Finally, the microphone must have a reasonable dynamic range so that if you suddenly shout it does not distort excessively, but it will also work when you speak or sing softly.

You need to fine tune (to connect wirelessly) ur wireless mic to your wireless receiver unit. Put a fresh battery to ur Mic then power-up ur receiver unit, find the right channel for both unit.
