NO advice or information received at all. This is a SCANNER problem, not a PRINTER problem.

Need to know how I can fix 'kdsinput internal error' when trying to calibrate my Microtek ScanMaker 8700.

    Thanks, Xavier

Hi,

The first time the scanner was installed, it setup likewise color matching/preferences. This is part of the Color Matching Setup command in the Preferences menu of the ScanWizard 5 that includes several industry-standard ICC color profiles.

It is possible that this "profile" has been corrupted and that the scanner can no longer access its references from the profile.

I believe the solution would be to completely uninstall the scanner including Scan Wizard and delete any and all profiles/preferences. Thereafter it would be a matter of re-installing and performing the setup again.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I take it that you are under WinXP; did you make sure you have Service Pack 1 installed? Are you sure your motherboard is USB 2.0 compatible? Did you try downloading and using the latest drivers for the latter?

Maybe try it on a friend's computer?

Please update me about this after trying this, thanks

You need to check that you were able to install the genuine Canon cartridge. If it is already genuine, try to do a printer maintenance by cleaning the print head, calibrating and align printhead. You can run this using the printer tools.

Here are the directions for Tec Color correction. If this doesnt work then replacing the print head is the most likely solution. The TekColor correction options provide simulations of different color devices. Automatic is the default correction for general image processing. Use the following table to determine what option you want to use. TekColor Description Automatic Applies the best color correction to each graphic element: text, artwork, and photographs Office Color sRGB Display: Approximates the colors on a computer display. sRGB Vivid: Produces brighter, more saturated colors than sRGB Display. Press Match SWOP Press: Matches specifications for Web Offset Publications. Euroscale: Matches Fogra glossy paper specification. Commercial: Approximates U.S. commercial press target. SNAP Press: Matches specifications for Newsprint Advertising Production. None Applies no color correction. Use with other color management tools, such as International Color Consortium (ICC) profiles, ColorSync, or the PANTONE Color Chart for the printer. Black & White Converts all colors to shades of gray From the workstation, select the color correction in a supported driver. Microsoft Windows 98 SE / ME / 2000 / XP/ Server 2003 / NT 4.x Operating Systems (OS): NOTE: Some of the color corrections are grouped under Office Color or Press Match. 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on the [Properties] button located on the top, right of the window. The Properties window will be displayed. 3. Click on the [TekColor] tab. 4. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS 9.x: 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on [General], and then select [TekColor] from the pull-down menu. 3. Select the required color correction. Apple Macintosh OS X, (version 10.2 and higher): 1. Within an application, click [File] from the toolbar, and then select [Print] from the menu. The Print window will be displayed. 2. Click on [Copies and Pages], and then select [Image Quality] from the pull-down menu. 3. Select the required color correction.

MacBook Pro Epson Print Driver Dilemma

your problem is about profiles. The gutenprint is the only way to print from intel to r1800, but this driver don't use the same ICC profiles. You have to use one of three solutions below:
1 the best, you have a profile calibrating device, you make a profile of your couple ink-paper and you convert your document into this ICC profile.
2 you convert your picture into your software in one of the Epson generic profiles (hey probably still are on your computer) and you print whithout color managment
3 (awful) you anticipate the color distorsion and you tune your picture to be bad on the screen but pretty good on paper.

I recently had Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional installed on my computer, will I be able to re-install Microtek Scanmaker X6 Scanner? If so, can you explain just how to do it...I'm an old man and need...

Congratulations, you just installed one of the best and more stable windows systems in your PC.
About your scanner, download the driver from here: ScanMaker and run the executable file. Its a Windows Millenium driver, not 2000 so it may have some problem with the Operating system because it wasn't designed to run in windows 2000.
Install the driver and tell us if your scanner worked ok!.

Bizhub C250/252 ICC Color Profile

HI i am fron DPI Grafica SH and have made test of diferents ICC profiles.
I will tell you how is my system to get to correct colors an sharp texts.

First - i print fron Adobe Ilustrator or Adobe PDF Profesional. If you have your file in Corel Draw export it to pdf or Publish a PDF File.

Second - I select s"sRGB IEC6 1966-2.1" this profile prints acurate fonts and colors that match whit de monitor. Is a little bit desaturate if you compare with " COATED Foagra". This one prints blurry fonts and blur edges.

This is the best result that i can get after print tests with all de ICC profiles.

Greetings and i hope that you can solve this problem.

Nolasco.
