Question about Logitech Harmony 880 LCD Remote Control

1 Answer

2 remotes....same problem

On my second remote since last May. The remotes work great for 5 months....then they stop keeping the correct day/time (resets to a random day/time) and start sending out double commands. The problem is resolved when I sync the remote. It will work problem free (keeps day/time for a few days and correct commands) for a few days and then "glitch" out at random. Any ideas?

What are the program codes for rcr6373r

Programming the RCA RCR6373 or RCR6373N Universal Remote Control Answer ID 11442 ' Published 09/21/2010 11:27 AM ' Updated 02/01/2013 03:00 PM How do I program my RCA RCR6373 or RCR6373N Universal Remote Control?

Programming the RCA RCR6373 or RCR6373N Universal Remote
To use this universal remote with your home entertainment system, first you need to program it to control your devices. There are four ways you can program the universal remote to operate your devices:

  • The Auto Code Search goes automatically through all the codes for the device you're trying to control. It's the easiest method, but it can sometimes take longer than some of the other programming methods.
  • The Brand Code Search searches through the codes for select brands of devices. It's not as easy as the auto code search, but it can be faster.
  • The Direct Code Entry lets you enter a code from the accompanying code list for your brand of device. It's not as easy as the other methods, but it's potentially the fastest method.
  • The Manual Code Search lets you manually go through all the codes for the device you're trying to control.
Auto Code Search: The Auto Code Search goes automatically through all the codes for the device you're trying to control. When you find the one that operates your device, you can stop the search and store that code.

Tips:

  • Each device key is associated with a type of device- the TV is preset to search for TVs, SAT•CBL•DTC for satellite receivers, digital TV converters, or cable boxes, DVD for DVD players, and DVR•AUX1 for DVRs, AUDIO for audio receivers, and VCR•AUX2 for VCRs. To program a device key for a different type of device, see the Reassigning the DVR•AUX1 and VCR•AUX2 Keys section.
  • To control combo devices, like TV/DVDs and TV/VCRs, you need to program each key separately. Each key will control that part of the combo device.
  • If the original remote control that came with your device has separate ON and OFF keys (instead of a single POWER key), the Auto Code Search might not work with that device. Try the Direct Code Entry method described later in this manual.
  • To exit without saving a new code at any point in the Auto Code Search, press the CLEAR key.
  1. Manually turn on the device you want to control.
  2. Press and hold the device key you want to program. While you're holding down the device key, use your other hand to press and hold the remote's POWER key at the same time.
  3. Wait until the remote's indicator LED comes on and stays on. Then release both keys.
  4. Point the remote directly at the front panel of the device you want to control. Press PLAY on the remote and wait 5 seconds. The remote is testing a batch of 10 codes on your device.

    Did your device turn off?
    YES: Go to step 5.
NO: Press PLAY again. The remote tests the next batch of 10 codes. Keep pressing PLAY every 5 seconds until your device turns off.
  5. When your device turns off, press the REVERSE key on the remote and wait at least 2 seconds. The remote tries the last of the previous ten codes.

    Did your device turn on?
YES: Press the STOP key. You're done! You've programmed this device key.
NO: Press REVERSE again. The remote tests the next code in the batch. Keep pressing REVERSE every 2 seconds until your device turns back on. When it does, press STOP.
Note: If you accidentally press the REVERSE key after your device turns on, press the FORWARD key. Then, wait two seconds to see if your device turns off again.

Notes:

  • Throughout the programming of each key, be sure to keep the remote pointed at the IR sensor of the device you are currently programming the remote to control.
  • Test the remote with the device to make sure the device key is programmed with the correct code for maximum functionality. If some features don't work, try a different code. See the "Testing the Code for Maximum Functionality" section below for more information.
  • During the Auto Code Search, the remote ignores keypresses that aren't part of the search.
  • The search times out after two minutes (the LED blinks four times and turns off, and the last programmed code under that device key is retained).
  • The indicator light blinks four times and turns off when the remote has gone through all the codes. The remote exits the Auto Code Search. If your device hasn't turned off yet, try a different search method.

Testing the Code for Maximum Functionality:

  1. Try a variety of the device's functions with the remote. If some device features don't work, go to the next step to try a different code.
  2. Repeat the Auto Code Search Method from the beginning. When your device turns off, do not stop searching. Instead, with the unit now off, continue to press the PLAY key every 5 seconds until the unit turns back on.
  3. Once the unit turns back on, press the REVERSE key on the remote every 2 seconds until your device turns off again. When your device turns off again, press the STOP key.
  4. Test the key's functionality again by attempting to control a variety of the device's functions. If the code that has been stored controls the majority of the device's functions, programming is complete. If the code stored does not give maximum functionality, try another code.

How to program RCA RCR3273R

Which make and model device do you want to program the remote to control? Make sure that your device is on. Keep the remote pointed towards the IR sensor on the component. Check that your device is older than your remote by at least 6 months. (It takes that long for the code to be included in the remote programming.) Note: if you go more than 2 minutes without pressing a key on the remote, the remote's indicator will blink four times and exit the programming mode. (It will also do this if all of the codes have been tested during a programming search.)

There are a few ways to program the RCA RCR3273R. For all methods, press and hold the device button for the component that you want to control. Then press the Power button on the remote. Release both keys after the device LED lights (and stays on). To do an automatic search, press Play and then wait 5 seconds. If your device doesn't turn off, press Play again. Repeat this every 5 until the device turns off. Once the component is off, press Reverse and wait 2 seconds. If your device doesn't turn on, press Reverse and wait 2 seconds. Repeat until your device turns back on, press Stop. The remote is now programmed with a potentially good code. Test all of the remote buttons that should work with your component. If the code doesn't work for all features, repeat the search but continue to press Play and wait 5 seconds after the device turns off the first time. Repeat as needed until you have a good code.

You can also try a brand search. After getting the device LED to light, enter the brand's numerical code from the list (see below) and then press Power and wait 2 seconds. If the device doesn't turn off, press Power again. If the component turns off, press Stop. Test if the remote works for all features of the device. Repeat and go past this code if the remote doesn't control of features of your component.

Alternatively, you could type in all 5 digits (see the code list) for that component after lighting the LED to enter the programming mode.

The complete manual, code list and programming guide are available here: http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12597 . RCA also has the manuals and code list here: http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/search/?sku=RCR3273R . See the Support/Manuals tab.

I hope this helps.

Need instructions on how to program a RCA model RCR 3273N universal remote

Hi! There are two ways on how to program your RCA Universal Remote Control. First is the direct code entry. In following these steps you need to provide me the type and brand of the device you want to be programmed to your remote control so I can give you the code for that certain device. Since you did not indicate the information I need for the code I will advise you to do the second way which is the Auto Code Search. Here are the steps for you to be able to program your Universal Remote without the code list.

1. Manually turn on the device you want to control.
2. Press and hold the device key you want to program. While you’re holding down the device key, use your other hand to press and hold the remote’s POWER key at the same time.
3. Wait until the remote’s indicator comes on and stays on.
5. When your device turns off, press the REVERSE key on the remote
and wait at least 2 seconds. The remote tries the last of the previous ten codes.
Did your device turn on?
YES: Press the STOP key. You’re done! You’ve programmed this device key.

I have an RCA rcr3273n and it does not have the code search button, what button do I use to sync it with my TV?

These are the steps for the auto code search function for your remote.
  • Manually turn on the device you want to control.
  • Press and hold the device key you want to program. While you’re holding down the device key, use your other hand to press and hold the remote’s POWER key at the same time.
  • Wait until the remote’s indicator comes on and stays on. Then release both keys.
  • Point the remote directly at the front panel of the device you want to control. Press PLAY on the remote and wait 5 seconds. The remote is testing a batch of 10 codes on your device.
  • Did your device turn off?
  • YES: Go to step 5.
  • NO: Press PLAY again. The remote tests the next batch of 10 codes. Keep pressing PLAY every 5 seconds until your device turns off.
  • When your device turns off, press the REVERSE key on the remote and wait at least 2 seconds. The remote tries the last of the previous ten codes.
  • Did your device turn on?
  • YES: Press the STOP key. You’re done!
  • NO: Press REVERSE again. The remote tests the next code in the batch.
  • Keep pressing REVERSE every 2 seconds until your device turns back on. When it does, press STOP.
Because there are a couple other methods you can use to search for codes I included a link to the manual for your remote.
Hope this helps.

RCA remote help

I GOT THIS FROM THE RCA WEBSITE...IT WORKED FOR ME...THE CRUCIAL STEP IS TO KEEP PRESSING THE REVERSE BUTTON!!! MY REMOTE WAS THE RCA RCR312W
  1. TURN ON THE COMPONENT (THE TV, DVD, ETC)
  2. HOLD THE TV (OR DVD) BUTTON AND THE ON/OFF BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME.  IT WILL STAY LIT.
  3. PRESS THE PLAY BUTTON EVERY FIVE SECONDS until the component turns off.
  4. Each time the Play button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks ten times and a block of 10 codes is sent to your component. This process continues until all the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If the component has not turned off after all codes have been searched, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks four times, turns off, and the Auto Code Search Entry method is exited.
  5. When the component turns off, press and release the REVERSE button, then wait two seconds to see if the component turns on again.
  6. If the component does not respond, continue to press the REVERSE button EVERY TWO SECONDS until the component turns on again. This will isolate the correct code in the last block of codes sent. Each time the REVERSE button is pressed, the illuminated ON-OFF button blinks.
  7. If the REVERSE button is accidentally pressed after the component responds, press and release the FORWARD button. Wait two seconds to see if the component turns off again.
  8. To save the new code, press and release the STOP button.
  9. The illuminated ON-OFF button turns off. You must press the STOP button to save the code.

Volume and mute buttons suddenly stopped working

Try changing the batteries. Most times the "tivo" buttons will work but the "tv" buttons will stop working when the batteries are low.

If you have done that, go back into settings and program the remote again for your tv, then give it a shot.
