The manual is on this Link
select the rev you have click on it on left panel of next page click on manual.

You can manually configure the access by typing in the IP address of the router where you would normally type in www.google.com

IP address is normally formatted as 192.168.0.1
User name admin no password.
once you log in to the router, select Wireless and then you decide if you want WEP enabled. By enabling wep you generate a key (hexdecimal) by typing in a password. several keys will be generated write them down, this is how other wireless connected pc's detect and run on your network.

I leave mine open (unsecure) but use network magic to monitor any activity on my network, I can them treat any as a threat and prevent them from using my net.

Multiple ssid and encryption problem

If you are protecting your SSID's with passwords every device that connects or tries to connect will have to know or have that password. Usually password protecting the SSID's is not needed if you don't broadcast them.

Don't know how to lock my linksys router

To connect to your wireless router, the router's wireless settings needs to be configured with the SSID, encryption etc. and also the wireless cards in all the laptops/computers needs to be configured with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops/desktop computers can communicate with your wireless router.
Connect a LAN cable from the Linksys to the LAN port on your computer.
Open a browser and enter the Linksys configuration URL
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
You can protect your router by changing the default admin PW (write it down and put it in a safe place)
Go to the wireless configuration and set up the SSID and WPA or WPA2 encryption to protect your wireless network and Internet from unauthorized access.
Now apply these settings to the wireless card in your laptop/computer.
To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

Password protect wireless access

You'll need to access the administrator web page for your router, and then set a security key (password) for wireless users.

Westell 0738 Is my next door neighbors wireless point I can't acess her network it asks for a password..can I get around it? And is there a universal password?? She's old and I bet she don't...

There are no universal password/encryption setting.
Your next door neighbour has protected her wireless network and Internet access from unauthorized access. If she wishes to give you access to her wireless and Internet she would give you the password. That is her choice.

My daughter cant access my router cause it ask for a password

I take it you are trying to get on a wireless network with her computer.
Sounds like your network is password protected (it should be).
You need to find that password and give it to her. If you don't know how to access the router from your computer, go to the website of the manufacturer of the router and look for the instructions. The particular thing you are looking for is wireless security setup.

Is there a limit to the number of login attempts that can be made or can hackers make continuous attempts until they get in?

There is no limit to the number of login attempts, as far as I know, but there are ways to block hackers outside of your network...

You can use MAC Filters (Media Access Control) to allow LAN (Local Area Network) computers by their MAC addresses access to the Network (p. 44 in the user manual).

You can also use the built-in Firewall Settings for protection from the outside world (p. 45 in the user manual).

There is also an Access Control Wizard (p. 40 in the user manual).

Here is the PDF link to the User Manual:

What is nap server?

Network Access Protection (NAP) is a Microsoft technology for controlling network access of a computer host based on the system health of the host, first introduced in Windows Server 2008.
With Network Access Protection, system administrators of an organization's computer network can define policies for system health requirements. Examples of system health requirements are whether the computer has the most recent operating system updates installed, whether the computer has the latest version of the anti-virus software signature, or whether the computer has a host-based firewall installed and enabled. Connecting or communicating computers have their health status evaluated. Computers that comply with system health requirements have full access to the network. Administrators can configure health policies that make it possible to ensure that computers not in compliance with system health requirements have restricted access to the network.
