ANY SMALL SHAFTED FLATBLADE SCREWDRIVER SHOULD DO. AS LONG AS IT FITS DOWN THE SHAFT OF THE SURFACE VALVE STEM AND IS LONG ENOUGH TO REACH THE ADJUSTMENT SCREW, IT SHOULD WORK. CRAFTSMAN HAS A SCREWDRIVER SET FOR FINE DETAIL WORK.

Flames are mostly yellow, vent black soot

There is a flame adjust ring on each burner where the gas exits the inlet nozzle. Before adjusting these, be sure all other gas appliances are working ok (water heater, etc.) . If they are then focus on the pressure regulator on the stove itself. That is the part that the gas line from the wall connects to on the stove. It is most likely bad. If not then go back to each burner , loosen the screw that locks the adjustment ring, turn the burner on and move the ring back to allow more air to mix with the gas so the tips of the flame just turns from orange to blue. Tighten the screw and move to the next burner that needs adjustment.

How to I remove fisher & paykel range knobs

They should just pull straight off. If they're a bit stubborn get a small screwdriver, protect your stove with a rag and carefully lever under the knob edge. There is nothing fancy holding these things on, just friction and they are keyed so you cannot make a mistake when putting them back on. Cheers.

Remove scratches from top of stove caused by burner top pushed back by my daughter when cleaning

You can purchase special ceramic abrasive cleaner but I doubt it will suffice. There are other glass polishers but I suggest phoning the Fisher and Paykel customer service line for their recommendations. Cheers

FLAME IS YELLOW INSTEAD BLUE for sunbeam gas range

Yellow usually means more air than gas mixing at the burner. The top of the stove lifts off. There are adjustment screws in front of every burner. Turn the burner on after first locating the screw. Turn the adjustment screw until desired flame is achieved. You want a flame with a yellow tip and the body of the flame blue. Please be very careful not to get burned. Hope this helps.

Right stove top burners won't ignite

Hello,
Your right side burners probably have small vertical lighting holes that are clogged where the pilot lights the burner. Use a sewing needle to poke each hole clean. While you're at it, poke clean the horizontal burner holes just to make sure they are not clogged either. Are there also little tunnels from the burners to each pilot flame? Make sure those are clean inside and attached properly on each end. The pilot flame should be approx 3/8" tall. Compare the working pilot flame to the non-working pilot flames and adjust as necessary. Each pilot has a small aluminum tubing running to it, the adjustment screw will be on this tube. You'll just need a small flat head screw driver to turn it counter-clockwise to increase flame. Hope this helps. Let us know if we can be of further assistance. Douglas

I have a Fisher and Paykel Saffron oven - stove top elements have started only working on high - unable to turn these down.

The temperature switching device has 'died', and needs replacing. This is a continual problem in these stoves (we have replaced each of ours at least once or twice in the 7 years we have had it). I will never buy another F&P oven!
The only solution is to get F&P or another repairman to come out and fix it. It cost us $AU 215 each time.

BO696 problems-burners too high on lowest position

Remove knob, with flashlight look down top of shaft see a slotted screw that screw is flame adjustment.

To adjust, light burner, turn flame to low, with screwdriver turn screw rite till flame is at desired hight (aprox 2mm). now turn up to high check that high is satisfactory if high is to low then adjust screw. check low again. adjust till both setings are acceptible.
do for all burners

As for holding the knobs that is common with this stove, you could check to see if flame is hitting sensor the burner hole that lines up the sensor may be dirty.

Tappan Gas stove

The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.
