Pry out the blue button. In the oval hole where the button was you will see a thin metallic part (semi-circular shapes on each side); pull it out through the hole and the switch will be functional.

December 25, 2010 - My dad's Braun 5726 razor would not turn off. I waited for battery to quit. Then I found solution above. This solution really does work. The reason this model razor will not turn off is because some internal plastic part failed and the inner metal shim gets jammed. The above fix works great, saved me expensive repair or buying a new one razor for my dad. This was an easy fix if you have small screw driver to prey the button and shim out. If I had known about this fix sooner I would have tried this procedure while unit was running. The parts removed have nothing to do electrically. The shim removed appears to be only mechanical. Whoever posted this fix.. THANKS Much..!!! :)) Finding the fix was a nice Christmas present.. My dad could use his razor the next day without having to wait on professional repair or downtime. Just a side note. Using this repair the blue button remains removed, but the on / off sliding works smooth without it. Many thanks again.

My shaver does not work even when i plug in the cord. The charger light comes on but I do not know if it is charging. i have opened the back and saw the battery contacts corroded. Is the battery dead?

Model 6616X is a rechargeable shaver only. It is not designed to run directly from the cord. Probably, the battery is dead and needs to be replaced. You will find the correct bttery at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. Scroll down the page for helpful installation videos

How to remove rechargeable battery for norelco 7864

hi minglim, welocme to the forum!
Replacing a Norelco Shaver Battery Things You'll Need:Torx screwdriver set Rechargeable Ni-Cd AA battery 1)Slide up the sideburns trimmer on the shaver .2)Try the various torx head screwdriver sizes to find the fit for the two screws holding the top of the back shaver cover on. Unscrew the two screws that are under the sideburns trimmer that hold the back of the shaver on. On some Norelco shavers, the back will now slide off if you apply downward pressure on the shaver's back. Other Norelco shavers have one or two torx screws on the base of the back cover on the shaver; if so, unscrew them also. Place the screws in a safe place. 3)Take the back cover off the shaver. Some shavers may have a strap fastening the battery down. Unfasten the strap if there is one. Take out the battery. 4)Replace the old battery with a new rechargeable Ni-Cd AA battery. Re-fasten the battery holding strap if there was one. 5)Replace the back shaver cover and re-screw in all the torx screws,

Braun 5614 rechargeable cordless shaver light flickers

Your batteries are starting to degrade, but the good news is they're still holding a charge for a week, so you really don't need to rush to replace them at this point.

The flickering of the charged indicator is normal, as the shaver is still plugged in and the batteries are fully charged. The flickering is due to the batteries chemicals breaking down, and as such, the charge cycle keeps "topping" them off while it's still plugged in.

When you finally aren't able to get a decent amount of cordless operation and run times from your shaver, then you'll want to get them replaced, whether you decide to do that yourself or have it done by a professional service center, is up to you.

Here's a reference for your future use. www.electricshaver.com carries replacement (factory OEM) batteries for most brands of shavers and they also will provide the repair/replacement service for you, should you decide you don't want to do it yourself. You can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and request a price quote, etc.

Anyway, your shaver is working fine and all you need to do is make sure you're not letting the shaver stay plugged in and charging constantly for more than a day, since any "extra" chargind isn't doing anything except keeping the batteries at a constant state of charge. Heat is a byproduct of charging and discharging any battery and as such, you want to allow for a cool down period before recharging them.

I tend to use my shaver until it is almost completely discharged before recharging it. By doing this, you can get the longest working life out of your batteries before you'll have to replace them.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

The on/off slide mechanism doesn't work.

If you are good with fixing things you can take it apart and see if you can reposition the slider switch to original condition. The little rubber plugs or bumpers has screws under them for the case. You will need a decent small screw driver to remove these screws. Just remember how the parts fit together and when you get the screws out the case can be gently pried off. Again, you will have to know how it fits back together again, but it is not that hard to do. The slider is either worn, or popped loose from the body of shaver. You can look on ebay and find a replacement shaver for cheap.

Good luck

Problem: Model ES7037
CMB - Over the past month the Panasonic shaver would turn on with 3-4 tries, but now will not turn on at all – the on-off switch must be bad after only 7 months of wet use. Before sending in I found this diagram:

Disassembly: Remove bottom Phillips screw & end cap, pop off each plastic side with fingernails (reinstall them from top 1st), remove 4 screws, remove 2 clips, take top off. Remove battery case and the on-off little, white plastic lever fell out. Slide off the white plastic/metal on-off slider & clean contacts with knife … my bottom contact was black & top was clean.

Assembly: Reinstall on-off slider (white plastic with metal contacts) by sliding back in grooves -- hardest part - place the on-off plastic lever on the battery back unit – I tried to put it on the case and could not get it to stay on. Slide the battery pack back in with the plug prongs in the holes in the end being careful not to drop the on-off lever. Test shaver. Stuff battery wires inside case – screw 4 screws and add 2 clips on, then final screw in the end after cap placed on. Easy once I knew how to put the on-off lever on the battery side – that was tricky. Total time was about 1 hour – next time it will be about 15 minutes. Works great! jgg

Use that link to disassemble and clean the switch then put it back together.

All newer Panasonic Wet/Dry Shavers are probably the same.

Good Luck!

TRIMMER STAYS IN OPEN POSITION

I had this problem, and it was due to the breakage of a plastic part.  If you slide the trimmer open you can see a piece of spring wire beyond the end of the word 'trimmer'.  The broken piece should locate the end of this spring; if it fails then the spring no longer forces the trimmer blade fully shut.  As the trimmer was opened and closed I could see that the spring did not stay symmetrically placed.  I could also see one end of the spring inside the mechanism, rubbing on the surface under the slider - but not the other.
To help with the instructions, let me identify some parts: "A" is the sliding part that your thumb pushes to open the trimmer; it carries the word 'trimmer'.  "B" is the hinged part that carries the trimmer blade itself and the word 'washable'.  "C" is the flexible piece of black plastic that connects A to B and on which the central section of the spring pushes.
To fix, first remove the sliding section A: slide the trimmer open and push a thin screwdriver down one edge of the slider.  Prise the lugs that hold A in place, away from their slots. Disconnect the connector C from the blade part B (gently push the lugs outwards, one at a time). Turn over the slider A and you should be able to see that one or both lugs that are intended to keep the ends of the spring in place, have broken.  (They are on a silver moulding fixed to the underside of slider A).  I fixed both ends in place with some two-part epoxy - be careful not to get glue on the other parts!  Allow to dry completely and reassemble.

I never saw a rubber seal that I expected, but perhaps I missed seeing it. But, how would whiskers get into the inside unit if it was sealed correctly?

Good Luck!

I just had the same problem, where the top of the charger would not stay down. I tried a spring clamp to keep it in place, and that works like a charm! Try it!
