Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier
Do not vacuum developer from these cartridges unless you want to blow the TDC sensor this will cause your copier to constantly feed toner and make a mess.
I place the cartridge on end after disassembling and rotate magroll by hand and wipe/ brush developer off roll until almost completely bare roll shows.
then fill up w/new developer by carefully pouring developer on magroll when cartridge is sitting on it's left side and roll faces up turn roll slowly while evenly pouring developer on roll.-no need to split cartridge.
then refill toner using provided spout
do not forget to vacuum clear waste sump on front of cartridge or you WILL have a mess.
Reassemble and test-these are good for many recharges.
we have done hundreds of them sucessfully with only an occasional defective ctg
Never overfill the toner hopper or tap it down multiple times and try to get more in than specified.
and finally use a hepa filter or toner approved vacuum.

190 Grams is the exact amont of developer required. Disassemble the cartridge by removing the green handle (2 screws),Black cover under that(2 screws),.Ten under that remove the 2 screws in order to separate the cartridge by lifting and pulling slightly. The top half has two pins petruding from it on the rear and there are no screws on the rear.Dump/vacume or blow out all old developer.Pour in 190g of new developer. Patially reassemble cartridge and then fill with toner 220g of toner by removing larger plastic plug.Reassemble install and allow the machine to cycle till ready.

If you buy a new toner cartridge the developer is already in it.
Are you mixing ink and toner to rebuild cartridges?
If your just a user, once you replace the toner cartridge you have added new ink with the developer in it.
If you are not mixing and rebuilding the toner cartridge, and installing a new one, You do not need developer.
