Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

After purchasing a Digital PhotoFrame (model#10ff2) I installed the sofware, plugged power to outlet and to photoframe, plugged in usb port to photoframe and to the PC. I am able to retrieve photos off my pc into the photoframe program, however, I receive a message of "photoframe is disconnected" when I try to import the photos from the PC to the photoframe. Can you help?

turn off both the computer and the photoframe and make sure they are connected and then restart them.

Acer aspire t 180 cant get pc to recognize digital camera photo memory card

Has the computer recognized the memory card in the past? If so, try download and reinstalling the memory card driver.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If after installing the drivers the reader still does not work, you can purchase a multi format card reader that will plug into you usb port from Tiger Direct for less than $15. at

http://www.tigerdirect.com

When the site comes up just put in the search at the top "SD Card Reader or XD Card Reader" depending you your type and press GO. You can sort the returned results by Price Low to High.

Do you have a USB Cable that came with the camera that you can plug into one of the usb ports on the computer? If so, try that. It's another way of getting pictures off the camera. Plug the cable on the camera and into the computer then turn the camera on. The computer will recognize the camera and install the drivers. You can navigate through the camera folders just like you do any other device to find the pictures.

Printer installation Don't see a place to plug in a cable for my HP 970cse printer

The HP 970cse is a USB printer. The ET135201 has 6 USB ports

Ports
  • 6 - USB 2.0 (2 front, 4 rear)

  • Connect your printer to either the front or rear ports. Note: a USB cable is not included with the printer and must be purchased separately.

    Thanks, Jim

I have got sony digital media player(mp4 player). It is actively charging in my laptop as it is windows 7 OS.but its not charging in my destop having windows xp. give me a solution.

Windows7 detects many sofwares unlike XP and so you will need to install the software, download if not with you. However if the USB is faulty use another and check, make sure the port is working good with another USB device. If not reinstall the port driver. Helpful?

I have 4 usb ports 1.0 I am not able to download

The port in the PC needs to be USB 2.0 standard.

A quick analogy. Think of a tap with 1/2" outlet, and you connect an adapter and a 1" hose to it. It will work, but you will not get more water just because you attached a thicker hose; the original outlet has to have higher diameter to give you more water.

If all your USB ports are 1.0 version, the only option is to purchase an USB 2.0 PCI card mounted inside the computer - this will give you 2 or 4 (depending on card model) USB 2.0 outlets.

Please come back with a rating/testimonial if helped.

Need instructions for eGo portable hard drive. This shold ave come wit th purchase but did not.

there's no much need for instructions.
you just plug the hd into a USB port avaliable in your computer. the operating system should be able to recognize it a few seconds after you have plugged the hd into the usb port.

some hd may require for 2 usb to be connected to the computer for the computer to see it.. usually they come with a "y" usb cord. one goes to the hd and 2 usb type a cord go to 2 usb ports on the computer

to check to make sure the computer sees the hd. go into my computer and check if a removable storage device has appear.

also check your hd is on, some external hd may have switch to turn them on.
also check if your hd requires external power if it does it should come with a power connector that needs to be connected and plugged into the power outlet for it to work.

post your finding if you need more help.

    Computer wont turn on

"Then I came across the recommendation to check the USB ports for damage. Saw some of the pins bent inside the port. Once I fixed them, the computer powered back on as normal! Small fix for big problem. Cheers - Parveen"

My wife's Dell E510 also suffered from the orange blinking light on front, and would not power up this morning. I had just purchased a new power supply for another computer and swapped it with the Dell's. To no avail... Put the Dell back together and still no luck with a start. So I came across your site and remembered that recently the 6y'o had jammed a USB port in the front of the Dell and after bending that USB port back into shape every thing works again!

Who would have thought that a free fix would be so easy!

    Thanks!!!
