I have a GE washer and the model #WBVH6240 and I have replace the rubber seal around the door twice from normal use and I want to know if the seal around the door has a defect in it. And if I can get a replacement for the washer is under a year old.It seem that the seal is very thin to me.Can'nt withstand alot of use
-   I think it's a combination of the violent vibration during the rinse and spin cycles as well as clothes getting stuck between the drum and gasket. The tear in my machine starts from the door lock push button switch and travels around the top of the gasket and ends at the opposite side (a 180 degree tear). I think replacing this gasket every so 6 months or so may be a lifetime job.

i want to say thanks so much for the expertise you guys have and we didnt need anybody out to fix our washer (WBVH6240F) my hubby couldnt believe all the stuff in the filter and also the belt was off and cut through some plastic around where the belt was. he had to tighten up the screw for the belt to tighten it back. thanks so much, it did save alot of money, and we found over $2 and bolts and screws, a bra wire, someones plastic piece off their sunglasses, how they got there not sure, so ladies make sure we check our mans pockets after their home from work, lol.... and no they want your money people, i can see where they charge you. thanks so much! angel
If lucky, it will run after the first push of the start button. If unlucky, I just have to wait...

If lucky, it will run after the first push of the start button. If unlucky, I just have to wait until the beeping sounds stop. Then, try again. and again if problem persist.
I have this same front load series, this is also my second time replacing the door seal/gasket. I love my front load but am very dissappointed with the quality of the product. This is the second seal in just over 6 months, can't GE come up with a material that wears better!!!

My washer is 1 months old, I just opened the door after the cycle finished and the door seal had a large tear in it. It was big enough to allow several pieces of clothing to get caught up and twisted in it. I'd say this seal design is lacking a lot, it seems to be a material problem.
