I have a GE washer and the model #WBVH6240 and I have replace the rubber seal around the door twice from normal use and I want to know if the seal around the door has a defect in it. And if I can get a replacement for the washer is under a year old.It seem that the seal is very thin to me.Can'nt withstand alot of use
-   I think it's a combination of the violent vibration during the rinse and spin cycles as well as clothes getting stuck between the drum and gasket. The tear in my machine starts from the door lock push button switch and travels around the top of the gasket and ends at the opposite side (a 180 degree tear). I think replacing this gasket every so 6 months or so may be a lifetime job.

Water pours out from under the machine at initial fill. I can see it coming from the little valve inside above the door....not necessarily the main fill valve on the left. From underneath I can see it running down the counterweight in the front of the machine. This is not a small leak, it runs out on to the floor as fast as it is filling.
I have this same front load series, this is also my second time replacing the door seal/gasket. I love my front load but am very dissappointed with the quality of the product. This is the second seal in just over 6 months, can't GE come up with a material that wears better!!!

My washer is 1 months old, I just opened the door after the cycle finished and the door seal had a large tear in it. It was big enough to allow several pieces of clothing to get caught up and twisted in it. I'd say this seal design is lacking a lot, it seems to be a material problem.
