A 105 screen going black.

My laptop has been put away for about 6 months and before putting it away it was fine now the once you turn it on after a few minutes the screen will go black, but all the power lights stay on and the fan is sitll running like nothing is wrong. i checked all hybernation mode and power saver mode options i could find and it is still doing the same problem. any sugestions would be great.

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY TASHIBA A215-S7407. IT IS LESS THAN 10 MONTHS OLD AND HAS ALWAYS DONE THIS AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. NOW IT IS MORE OFTEN. I USE IT EVERY DAY. I CONTACTED TASHIBA, AND THEY COULD NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I WAS SAYING (BIG SURPRIZE). ANYWAY THEY SAID TO TAKE IT TO AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR SHOP IN MY AREA. I THINK ITS JUST AN INFERIOR LAPTOP!

Black screen when turned on

I would check the memory first. If you have two sticks of ram in it. Take one out the try to start it. if you have no luck, switch it with the other one. Then try a restart.
If you have lights but black screen, your video (gpu) may be bad. The fix depends on the model you have. In most cases, it is a motherboard replacement. If you have a DV6000-DV9000 they are notorious for having bad solder. It comes loose and loses connection. You can take the motherboard from the laptop case, heat the gpu for about 30 seconds (with a heat gun), and hold pressure on it for 1 minute. When you put it back together, put silver grease on the gpu and lay a copper shim ( I use a penny) between the gpu and the heat sink. This fix works 75% of the time, but it is not a permanent fix. You may get month out of it, 6 months if you are lucky. You will eventually replace the motherboard

My screen has blue and red lines across it. Now the red lines are becoming stronger and the screen flashes red until it turns off. how do i fix this?

This is for if the lines are thin and in the form of an arc across the screen.

You need to turn down the screen voltage for the blue and red CRT. I believe the access is through the front on that model.

1) Remove the front grill
2) There should be access panel you need to remove once you remove the front grill. This is where the screen voltage adjustment is located
3) Look for a small black box with six knobs on it. One row is for "Focus" and one row is for "screen". It will be marked, but probably need a flashlight to see which row it is. There will be a "R", "G" and "B" next to each knob to represent Red, Green Blue respectively.

4) Careful with the access panel removed, you are only inches away from very dangerous voltages.
5) slowly turn the R or B knob counterclockwise until the lines on the screen disappear.
Keep your hands away from everything else and only use one hand near the tv. put the other hand behind your back.

6) Once corrected, replace the panel and put the grill cover back on.

Hi it may be virus issue. i suggest you to try with last known good configuration so that it will take your computer to last good working state. for that tab F9(Function key) continously immediately once you turn on your computer until you get the advanced option on your screen. highlight last known good configuration and hit enter and it will boot in that mode once you get the main sceen CLICK start - > all programs- > Accessories - > system tools -> system restore and wizard will open and select Restore my computer to an earlier time click next next finish to set your computer to last good working condition. If that doesnt work reinsatll the OS
