Question about Car Audio & Video

Indicators Hello, I drive a 2001 VW Passat. The indicators and hazzard lights have stopped working. They work when unlocking the car with the remote control but not when turned on manually. I think it might have something to do with the fuse, but I'm not sure where the fuse box is either. Could you offer some advice/help? Thanks, Lisa

Behind the cover on the left side of the instrument panel- driver's side- you have to have the driver's door open to remove the cover.

Might be wiring issue. Look for your vehicle in this database.
You'll have the color codes for your vehicle there.

Found some other information:

It's likely that the relay is not working. It should be behind the emergency indicator switch. Try this switch to see if indicators work, if not activate it several times as there might just be a bad connection. If still no joy then you will need to prise out the switch (carefully to not damage trim) and renew the relay.

VW Beetle CD Player Stopped Working

Just had the same problem. It would say Track 63, and nothing would work. We have a 2001 Beetle, and on a road trip, it stopped working while we were driving and listening to CDs.

From another post, someone suggested removing the negative cable from the battery post. Tried this and it still did not help. However, I noticed that the cable would not tighten as I would expect. All cables are very clean, but I needed to push the cable further down before tightening. Ended up lightly tapping it down on the post with a small hammer, then tightening. Well, after that, all worked. Also noticed that the beep when locking the car was louder.

Hope this helps.

Unlock code

This is the only way to clear the code. You must have the remote to do this, it will not work without the remote. I work at an authorized Kenwood service center and tell you for certain that this is the only way it can be done. If you do not have a remote, you will either need to buy one or borrow one from somebody else who has a Kenwood radio. Most all Kenwood car stereo remotes will work, it does not need to be from the same model number but it must be a Kenwood car stereo remote. If you can not find a remote for this then you will need to take the radio to an authorized Kenwood service center and they will usually do it for a small fee.

The first step is the only part of this procedure that you do not use the remote.

1. During code request mode, press the Track UP key for at
least 3 seconds while holding down the AUTO key. (– – – –
will disappear)
2. Enter, “KCAR” with the remote controller as described below.
• Press the remote controller 5 key twice, and press the Track
Up key. (Enters a “K” )
• Press the remote controller 2 key three times, and press
the Track Up key. (Enters a “C” )
• Press the remote controller 2 key once, and press the Track
Up key. (Enters an “A” )
• Press the remote controller 7 key twice, and press the Track
Up key. (Enters an “R” )
3. Security function is canceled and unit sets to All-Off mode.
4. Code request mode appears if a mistake was made in entering
the numbers.

Vw beta car radio, made by blaupunkt

To switch the system on, push the button left. When blue background light appears with the word "Safe" en ter your code. Example: code is 3527 push button nr1 3x, button2 5x, button3 2x and button4 7x. Confirm by pushing button 8 or 9. When the correct code is entered the system will go in operational mode. If the incorrect code is entered "Safe" will appear again. Good luck.
