If it is a stock stereo it is a theft prevention feature. you must put in the code that cam with the car, if you do not have access to this code you must go to the dealer

Have a dell latitude 600 d will not boot up goes right into bios mode and no modes work right back to screen windows xp thanks

Quite simple.. I've had several D600's.

You're not going to like the answer--

You OS is borked, or your hard-drive is damaged.

I'll go with the bored OS, as my D600 has survived years... What you can TRY:

Reboot the system, press F8 constantly as it turns on.. I'm mean constantly..don't stop.

1000x is okay..

It'll go into a grey screen, asking you if you want to boot into various optiosn... select, "Last known good configuration".

See if that boots. If it doesn't, do it again..select "SAFE MODE"... and you'll need to go into the recovery screen to "Restore from a previous state".

If that fails... Insert CD...reinstall OS :-(

Hope it helps.

No power to car stereo

1) your CB may provide a phantom drain to ground and run down the battery if you do not have means of interupting all power to it when the vehicle is not running and no key in ignition and radio off. It is usually the powerline filter in the CB that does this.

But the car stereo not wanting to work, it is likely the wire termination at the fuse came apart and is no longer making contact to that power wire for the radio. If you cross tap to the CB power wire a few inches from the fuse block, the stereo should work again.

I HAVE A RADIOSHACK HTX242 2 METER XCIEVER. WHEN I CUT OFF MY POWER SUPPLY THE RADIO LOSES ALL MEMORY AND HAS TO BE REPROGRAMMED. DOES THIS RADIO HAVE AN INTERNAL BATTERY FOR MEMORY. AND HOW DO I CHANGE...

It is possible it has a battery for memory. It could also have a relay wire to keep the memory like the or car stereo that could be malfunctioning. I have not worked on this particular 2 meter so the best advice I can give is to open it up and look inside. Sometimes you have to just dig in. I wish I could be more specific.

When transmitting i got car speaker interference feedback and then my stero went into protect mode. i have had this same problem before on a different vehicle and it is frustrating not to be able to use...

When installing your CB did you use the same power source as you radio (same wire source)? If yes the use a different source. Never hook them into the same line. If no are you running a linear? You could be causing a surge if only running off the battery and no backup battery. Also make sure you have a solid ground. Not just the one one the negative wire. Run a copper braid from the chassis to the floor board bolt under the passenger side. What model CB are you using? Has it been "moded" by anyone? If so then what? Answering these questions will either fix this or enable me to narrow it down a bit.

HAD MY CAR SERVICED AND BATTERY CHANGED VAUXHAL WANT 25 QUID TO TELL ME CODE FOR CAR STEREO ANY HELP

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)

To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .

If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION

quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING
Make sure you quote EVERYTHING

Also quote the MAKE of CAR

note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number

If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive

Audio playback through speakers

HELLO
This happens because of the close proximity of the CB transmitting antenna to the car stereo antenna. I don't know for sure what country you live in, but if your country's CB system uses AM as a transmission mode it is well known for breakthrough on audio systems etc. In the UK, we have FM on CB frequencies which is less-prone to giving interference.
You could try ferrite rings/clamps on the car stereo antenna coax cable, power cable and also on your loudspeaker cables too. Apart from that - that is all you can do using it mobile!
GOOD LUCK

Sound coming through my speakers

That is normal especially with stereo's without alot of filtering, but there are a few things you can do to try to alleviate some of it ; move your c.b. as far away as you can like maybe mount it on the transmission hump.Don't have the positives connected directly to the battery.Don't have your antenna close to the speakers, and while were talking antennas make sure your swr is low.If none of this helps think of it this way some people pay big $$ to have talkback in their radio you have it for free also though this is probably more important MAKE SURE all your wire connections are good ( no frayed wires ) . Good luck Dan

Cobra HH 40 charger specs

I have a Cobra HH-40 CB radio and am charging it as I type. The included charger is rated at 16V DC, 100mA. The pattery pack charges 10 AA rechargable batteries (the manual specifies NiCd, but you can also safely use NiHM). The 12V DC car charger included cannot be used to charge the battery pack, but can power the radio.
