Question about Lexmark X73 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printing I go to use the color on my printer and when it prints out it is in lines and is hard to see the printing or picture. I just put in to new cart. one black and one color . Please help me Gamma

Trying this fix from the Lexmark X63.

On the printer itself.
Hit the "setup" button.
Press "menu" 'til the maintenance appears.
Press "options" 'til cartridge clean appears.
Press "start"

or you can do it from your computer.

start, programs, lexmark print control panel.
Click cartridges tab.
Then select clean print nozzles.

Stops Printing Certain Ink Colors


If a belt is displaced the print head position is out of alignment. That requires and new belt be put in place. As for colors not printing, that is not associated with the transverse mechanism, but the print cartridges and/or print head directly. You may need to replace the entire print head mechanism, or test each and every cartridge. The contacts on both the ink carts and the cart holder must be clean. Use a qtip and rubbing alcohol to gently rub over the metal contacts and let air dry. Try to use new carts when resetting the printer for best results.

Have put new cartridges in and only prints yellow lines


Remove all cartridges, make sure any tape has been removed from over the nozzle. Ensure that everything has been installed properly, then use your printer (prompts on device, or in printer>control panel) to print some test pages, realign heads, etc.

I have new photo (58) and color (57) carts and when I print wallet size (9 pics per 8.5x11 photo paper) the first 3 print true color and the last 6 are blue. I have cleaned the rollers and still do not...


hello, you are using the photo color ink cart, have you tried running a cleaning cycle or test print, the reason why i ask, is that maybe 1 of the colors is not printing, the test pages would prove what color is missing, if black not printing, it would print possible blue, or no black at all. i know you have put in new inks, but since the volume of ink in these cartridges run out according to usage, one color might run out before the others, and since black and yellow are the most used colors, without them your prints will show color faults.

Printer tells me to install new color cart. after i have put in new hp cart.


Hi,

1. Press the Setup button.
  1. Use the arrow keys to select Tools and then press the OK button.
  2. Select Clean Print Cartridge and then press OK . The device prints a test page.
  3. Examine the test page. If the print quality of the page is good, stop here. If the print quality is bad, go on to the next step for further cleaning.
  4. Open the Printer Toolbox . There are two ways to do this:
    • Open HP Director , select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox .
    • If the HP Director method does not work, open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel , then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties . Click on Printing Preferences . Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.
  5. The Printer Toolbox opens. On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridges , then follow the on-screen instructions. Up to three levels of cleaning are available. Discard or recycle the page that prints.
  6. Remove and re-insert, while the product is switched on.
If still bad, swap out the cartridge.

Print head


Check that all, printhead and ink are seated and contacts are correct.

Power down the printer and allow for a complete power on and self test.

Nothing to do with the driver, I'd say the cartridges are your problem, skipping lines and missing colour are indications of needing new ink carts, are carts new HP ones?

Printer prints in color but has gaps


Have you tried a new colour cartridge? This is a classic sign that the cartridge may be low on ink. When printing text, assuming you are printing black, it is likely that the black cart is doing most of the work so the gaps are insignificant. You could try printing text in several different colours. If the colour cartridge is low, you'll find that some colours may be ok but others may have gaps.

Best to try a new cart if you have one.
