I have an toshiba L305 laptop and when I turn it on I here the disc drive and the fans stays on the dvd rw woorks when I put a reinstall disc in it but the scree stays black from when I turn it on to trying to reinstall the hdd nothing on screen and no light at all

To shiva can be called and for a small fee the disc can be sent out.. If the hard drive failed they could send you out a new hard drive with the factory image.

Part of the problem is the hybernate function it causes windows to become unstable and eventually will corrupt the windows files making vista unusuable. I strongly suggest the hybernate mode be disabled and you make a backup recovery disc just in case windows crashes. By following what I have recommended and shut down windows when not in use will make a big difference in stability.

Do a complete reformat of the hard drive, but make sure you have backup discs before you attempt this, if luck prevails the settings will be set at factory, and hopefully your internet will be up and running. It would not hurt to do a full scan with your anti-virus first.

With the Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907 Laptop, you can put a 500GB hard drive and up to 2 TB hard drive. The only requirements are to make sure it has a SATA connector and is 2.5" Size. I Googled TOSHIBA L305-S5924 disassembly to find it.

For the very original state you'll need the Toshiba discs. Insert the one that's labeled as needed to restore your system and boot to it. At one point you'll be promtped to delete the existing partition (this wipes your data) and then you can reinstall Windows on the empty partition. If yo udo not have the Toshiba discs, you can still load Windows using a Windows installation disc, but you will likely need to find the missing drivers for your laptop, so don't go this route unless you are comfortable with it.

the dvd that came with you computer is a recovery disc ; to recover your computer as new as you bougth it ;so to do so ; restart your com ;change the boot options to boot from the dvd first and follow what the dvd says and excuse my english
