remote control chewed by dog, universal ones do not have surround sound adjustment ability. Or do I have to get the right one that will help set up the surround sound system? Or if I have to get a new control for the DVD, where can I get one, please?

I have a Sony theater reciever that I bought off eBay with no remote. So I looked around and Sears was selling a Sony Universal remote RM-VZ220 saying it was compatible with my Sony STR-K670P AM/FM...

1. Make sure you have good batteries in the remote and they are installed properly.

2. Press the DVD button on the second row of the remote, then check if the Power and other buttons on the remote work with your system (it probably won't since the factory setting is for a Sony DVD player, not a home theater system).

3. If it doesn't work you need to find the correct code number for your system and enter it into the remote. Press and hold the SET button for more than 3 seconds until the SET indicator lights up. Keep holding the SET button down and press the DVD button, then release both buttons. Then enter the code 31622. If you have done this correctly the SET indicator flashes 3 times, if not start over.

4. See if the remote now controls the theater system correctly. If not, repeat the above procedure #3 with the following codes one at a time until you find one that works: 31558, 31658, 31758, 31822, 31858, 32522.

I have the Lifestyle V10 Home Theater System. It worked great in its original location in our family room. We recently relocated it to the living room and now the remote works erratically. I tried moving...

The Lifestyle V10 has a remote that uses RF code to communicate with the receiver. That means it uses Radio Frequency which could be a problem if you have too many wireless devices or radio's around. Check if you have any Cell phones, Cordless Phones , Wireless Routers etc which emit a Radio frequency which would cause it to be erratic as there would be a conflict in the signals.Try to move them away from the receiver.

Remote and player keys are not working/ volume is working

Hello, depending on how new your dvd player is ,and what brand it might be ,their are many variables to this answer , first of all if your volume works and the rest of the buttons do,nt ,I have to wonder if we are talking about a dvd player remote , because to tell you the truth i have never seen a volume control on a dvd remote! Is this a universal remote that controls your dvd and other components? if so you might have lost the code that you first programmed into it , if it,s not that ,Then lets look at the player that did work a day earlier and now it does,nt ,If niether of the two work then i would have to say it woul be a sensor issue in the board and most likely the recieving part of the board that recieves the signals from the remote and that same part of the board also controls you dvd function controls on it,s front.Another question is on electronics ,Do you have a surge protector on the components ? ,and if not Was their a storm recently in your area that could have possibly caused a power failure at your house that you might not have been around to wittness! When power surges happen near a home ( a close lightning strike) you could be out of the house and not realize it and when you return your power is restored but your digital clocks and microwave never lie when it comes to power surges because those are some of the first items you have to reset ,theese are asure sign that their was a power failure , if that was to occur without a surge protector to the dvd player , it,s quite possible it fried the board , Also make shure your remote batterys are fresh ,if it,s still not that you can try one more thing ,if you buy a universal remote for about 10 bucks , the control comes with a code book that can be programmed to your dvd player and see if that will work , if any of theese idea,s don,t seem to work consult your owners warranty manual for a possible replacement ,most home theater systems today are all in one units that have all the electronics in one unit including dvd , if this is what you have then definetly consult your manual and call customer service of your brand ,they will work with you and possibly honor the warranty and send you a new one ! I hope i was able to give you some idea,s and insight into helping you troubleshoot your problem ,! it,s been a pleasure trying to help,Sincerely Glenn mayer

Remote has stopped working for Philips LX3000 D

The remote control might be damaged. If it is possible to arrange a new remote for testing, do it. volume control of LX3000D works from the front PCB. check the front PCB is perfectly ok or not. Regarding the DVD player, what it says when you try to load a disk?

No remote

One option is to purchase a universal remote locally with the understanding that you can return it if it doesn't work. I'm not aware that the codes for this are that different than many other Sony players as far as basic DVD functions are concerned.

Universal Remote Issues

I bought a universal remote that lists the code as "190". On a different manual online, I saw "373". Try those and see if it works.

A-mw T342 Remote question

You can use an all in one remote to work most of the features. I have one of the newer models. (sorry don't know the model #) but I had to contact the all in one customer service and they helped me with a procedure to load the code to make the remote work with the AMW player.
