Hi i have an acer laptop and anti virus software was tried to be installed on it and when it restarted it would not start properly, Windows ran the repair on it and it cannot fix it automatically and to send an error report.
What would be the best way to get it fixed and how long would it take ?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

Hi, this problem is due to hardware or software issues, so make sure you don't have worm virus or some unwanted software 1-check your computer for virus with good software like Norton anti virus 2-remove unwanted software 3-use disk cleanup, defrag, scan disk on my computer 4-increase the virtual memory (search in bing.com or...) 5- make some free space on windows drive (usually is c:) 6-use registry cleaner software to clean unwanted keys if you still have problem may be you need install a fresh copy of windows ,and if your problem exist yet may be you have hardware issues so try to clean your hardware with blower for dust and ....... at last if the problem is exist yet so go find some licensed person to solve your problem in hardware issues best regards,
I would reboot into safe mode, then run your anti-virus/anti-spyware software again, then try rebooting in regular mode and see if that fixes the issue. It sounds like it could be a hardware issue, though... possibly a loose connection or faulty screen, if the virus/spyware search doesn't pan out.
Have you any anti virus installed on your laptop ??
doing a factory restore is a bit drastic if having a virus is the only problem
there are several free anti virus programs on the net that you can download
that is if your laptop is still usable
free avg is quite a good one just be careful and read each stage of install so that you don't install some of the stuff that they wanna give you along with the free avg
If you still wanna do a system restore back to factory settings
make sure you save any files or pics that you don't want to loose on a spare hard drive or pen drive
or even burn them to disk
that is given the fact that your laptop is still working
DID you do any back up disks when you first had the laptop this would be useful if you did
Some acer's have a recovery partition i think its some where like start programs acer empering technology acer erecovery manager restore or recover something like that click on it follow the on screen instructions windows will restart and hopefully do the recover good luck but i would try to remove the virus before a system recovery
Restart your computer and press F8 to run on safe mode. After that restart again your computer. Running your computer on safe mode will fix and correct some errors because of faulty installed drivers, multiple drivers installed with same drivers or faulty software installed in your computer.
Also, run disk defragment on your computer by going to start menu, choose accessories, choose system tools, choose disk defragment and after this, restart again and it will run faster other than before.
If still slower, just run the system restore to restore the previous setting of your computer. Go to accessories, choose system tools, choose system restore and choose the date your want to restore.
If you can reboot to Safe Mode and select "Last Known Good Configuration" it will be best but if you can't then you have to completely shut- down and reboot with your Restore or Windows CD and select the options to do a "Repair"
Hi, the Acer Aspire is a Linux operating system based computer. It does not run Microsoft windows in the same way that Apple computers run OSX, not windows. The antivirus programs you mention are for windows computers. On the bright side, running Linux you really DON'T need virus protection Linux is inherently far more secure than windows.
You may have a virus or Malware. One solution is to reinstall windows. Or you may have a driver issue. If you have installed new hardware recently try and run the install CD again to see if this corrects it. I personally use AVG for my antivirus software and have had no problems with it. You can use it free on a personal computer. Here is a link:
