hold the record button, and power botton together to enter the device in reovery mode and then connect to computer. 16mb format file wil be shown therein. type sansa.fmt and disconnect from pc. it will get formatted itself and then try reloading music files. and dont forget to slide the lock button before the procedure stated here. it should work. beware of formattng if u dont want to lose ur data inside it. try to scan for virus and if not solved then format.
You may want to try to reformat the player and then load music again after the restore. It also may be a problem on the type of file you are trying to play. Most common formats are .wma, .mp3, .wav

MP3 players can only play music that are in mp3 file format. If you copy music files to your MP3 player that are not in this format then the MP3 player cannot play these music files.
