Does the Canon MP510 have a power reset button Power will not turn on? I have unplugged and then plugged back in several times. Still will not power up.

there is no reset button, to reset the printer unplug the printer from the power and wait 3 minutes, this reboots the software, if the printer still doesn't start and function properly the unit is defective

Make sure the adapter is working. You can try a different power adapter as a solution. If you have some issues on its operation, you can do a hardware reset. Try the steps from this site, How to reset canon mp510. The reset steps here saved my printer after refilling the cartridges.

Looking for a solution to an error 6502 on canon printer mp510

turn power switch off so green light is extinguished.

First hold down resume button and then hold down power button so both are held down at same time

When green light comes on, continue holding down power button and let resume button go, then press resume button twice. Then let power button go.

Then press resume button four times, power button should be releasedbefore doing this.

Wait until printer settles down, if power is off, turn on. If power will not come on, remove power cord from back of printer, then wait 15 seconds before plugging back in again and turn power on. This normally solves the error problem - if not go through same procedure again.

ERROR 5010

Try to power cycle/reset the printer. Hold the ON/OFF button for on second or until the screen goes off. Wait at least 10 seconds and turn the printer back on. This should reset the device. Also, you can try unplugging it for 15-20 seconds while it is off to help with the reset.

CANON PIXMA MP510 WILL NOT POWER ON

I had a similar problem. What worked for me was to remove the power pack, which is secured by two clips. Slide a knife or similar to release the power pack. It will slide out to reveal a mini-plug with five red wires. Disconnect this.

This where it gets a bit uncertain. I plugged in the power pack and put a meter across the outputs. They seemed to be working (ie I was getting voltage). I had a quick look at the indide of the MP510 and decided there was nothing further I could do. I then reassembled everything and, just out of curiosity, pressed the power button again. And it came back to life!

I suspect that in your and my cases, the MP510 had "crashed" and I performed a hard reset by removing and then reconnecting the power pack. But who knows? Best of luck
