I wondered if something like that was happening...

I assume your model is a Stylus Photo 780 (even though the problem category was listed under Epson R1800).

A service manual for your printer is available for purchase here.

Unfortunately I do not have access to the manual myself, so I can't directly show you the spring connection points. The manual cost isjust $9.99, and I am confident it will show you exactly what you need.

I have a macbook laptop with damaged dvd cd drive. I am getting a white screen and folder with a question mark when i start up computer. What is the problem and how do i fix it?

The folder with the question mark indicates that the computer is unable to boot (start) from the hard drive. I would ordinarily tell you to put in your system disc and boot from it to use Disk Utility to fix your drive. But you say your DVD burner is broken.

1. Hold down the power button to turn off your machine.
2. Hold down Command and S together and press the power button to turn the machine back on.
3. It will boot to a black screen with white text. Once it gets done, type

fsck -fy

and press the Return key. This will check and hopefully fix your drive.
4. Once it's done, it will either say, "This disk appears to be okay." (or something like that, or "File system has been modified." If it says that the file system has been modified, return to step 3 and type fsck -fy again (and then press Return).
5. Once you see the message that the disk appears to be okay, type

reboot

and press the return key.

Hopefully your machine will boot up successfully. If so, please leave a comment so we know it worked (and please give me a good rating). If not, leave a comment with details and we'll try something else.

Good luck!

How do I eliminate unnecessary redundancies within a given email?

To reduce the multiple forewards to just the bare message, highlight the part of the message you want to select, press "[Ctrl] C" (hold down the Control key and press the "C" key and release both, this is the Microsoft command for COPY). Create a new message, click in the area where you will type the message and press '[Ctrl] V' (for paste) and your message will appear there. You can modify or edit to your hearts content before you send it.

What does this key do?

LF means line feed. This was a common key on typewriters. Now we just use the "Enter" or "Return" key.
Return meant the return of the carriage (the part on the typewriter that holds the paper and moves side to side as you type).

Basically, this just starts a new line for your text.

You can see this by typing a text message then add the LF and keep typing.
You can see the above text by scrolling with your finger.

My friend has a HP Pavilion 533w and when we turn it on it goes threw the loading screens and then to a black screen and nothing happens you can move the mouse and see the pointer but nothing happens...

It is possible that the file Lsass.exe has become damaged or is not properly linked to the other files in the security system. Reset this file by using the following steps:

1. Turn on the PC and press the F8 key repeatedly when the first screen appears.
The Windows advanced options menu appears.
2. Use the Up and Down Arrow and Enter keys to select Return to OS choices .
3. Select Microsoft Windows Recovery Console .
NOTE: If "Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console" is not listed, restart the PC with a Windows XP CD, Recovery Console CD, or Recovery Tools CD in the top CD or DVD drive and open Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. If a Windows XP Setup screen appears when using Recovery Console CDs, press the R key to open the Recovery Console.
NOTE: If "Microsoft Windows XP Recovery Console" does not list and you do not have a CD with recovery console, try the following:
a. Turn on the PC, and press the F10 key repeatedly at the first screen.
b. At the Recovery screen, click Advanced Options .
c. Press the Alt + D keys at the same time to open a command prompt window and skip to step 5.
4. When the login prompt appears, press the number next to the windows version (minint or Windows) and type the logon password. Try pressing Enter if you do not know the password.
5. At the command prompt, type the following: diskpart
6. Press Enter , do one the following:
  • If a table of volume names appears, remember the drive letter next to the main drive volume name (usually D or H next to HP_PAVILION or PRESARIO) and press the Esc key.
  • If a diskpart prompt appears, type list volume , press Enter , remember the drive letter next to the main drive volume name (usually D or H next to HP_PAVILION or PRESARIO), type exit when done, and then press Enter .
NOTE: If the main drive volume name does not appear in the list, the PC needs to be recovered.
