Question about Gateway M305CRV Notebook

Linking a laptop to a HD telelvision

I have a connection to the SVG socket on my laptop and I also have the correct extension lead that then connects via a HDMI connection into my television. Unfortunately I am unable to get a picture on my television and I wanted to know how

I have a gateway T1625. HDMI connection from the laptop to the TV HDMI port is not working. Do I need to do extra steps other than plain connecting the HDMI cable?

Asus p5p800-vm MOBO, when i power on the CPU the monitor is no display and the red light who's booting the HD is powered on.

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((motherboard to your hard drive))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error If your computer came with a motherboard disc the drivers could be on it or you might have a dirty graphics card remove the graphics card and clean the socket
hope this helps

Signal to monitor lasts for about 20 seconds then stops (initial installation of pci-e card). Neither new graphics port or onboard port works after 20 seconds

Hi,

You didn't fully expain how each device is connected to the others. I don't think you have this set up correctly. Your DVD cannot record in HD so there is no point sending an HD signal to it - it can't process it. This is how I would set it up:

1. Install a 2-way splitter on the input cable
2. Connect output 1 from the splitter to the Humax receiver
3. Connect the Humax receiver to the TV with an HDMI cable
4. Connect output 2 from the splitter to the DVD
5. Connect the DVD to the TV with SCART cable.

This will enable you to watch HDTV via the digital receiver and also provide an input from source (dish/cable) to your DVD player so that you can record.

If you've already set it up this way then it should work. I suspect you've connected the Humax to the DVD and TV and also the DVD to the TV.

Please try this setup and post back if you need further assistance.
