We are experiencing the SAME problem with our speakers. It was working just fine and now there is nothing but buzzing from the speakers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My system was working just fine. I tried to use it again a few days later and all I get, no matter what I try to use (CD/Cassette/Stereo) all I get is a buzzing or humming sound. If anyone knows what the problem is, please let me know.

    Thanks,

My stereo has been doing the same thing for over a year now. I believe I was listening to it one night when it was lightning and think that may have caused the problem...

The audio output ic pack is shorted that is located near the power transformer. The ic pack must be replaced, but it will need to be dismantled to get at the part.

I can not hear anything accept for buzzing on the spaekers wether I am trying to play radio, tape, cd or nothing at all.

Hello Sir, hi, the buzzing sound is a sign of an amplifier IC failure, this IC amp needs to be replaced. (this requires finding the spare part and soldering and desoldering that part, so a tech person is needed) have it serviced by an electronics tech guy.

I have a rca rs2640 stereo system. The display, cd player, tape player, radio, and headphone jack all work. But when a cd, tape, or radio is playing, the speakers do not make any sounds. I know it is...

It sounds like maybe you have speaker wires touching somewhere. If they are touching it will blow fuses, especially if you turn the volume up to try to hear anything. DO NOT put bigger fuses in to replace the old ones, you will actually do more damage to your system because a higher volt fuse will allow a higher voltage to "spike" in your stereo and might just start frying internal parts.

Tape Deck in Car

Sounds like a poor "connection" between the cassette head and the head in the adaptor.

This could be caused by either head being dirty, or the tape head may be mis-alligned.

You can clean the heads with a proprietary head cleaning fluid.

Check with a standard tape.

Also, if your head unit supports it, switch the auto-reverse control. Some adaptors have dual heads for auto-revers decks, and some only have a single head.

I had the same problem with mine and the fix for it was to replace the Q401 transistor on the main board. I used a NTE382
replacement and has worked fine ever since.
Hope this helps

Of course it will stop buzzing when you mute the speakers. From the limited description, it could be anything from a power supply to loose wires in the system between the speaker leads and the motherboard. Best bet is to take it in to a technician and get a pro's answer. If he wants to charge more than what it's worth to you, get a new one.

Home Stereo System

Sounds like a internal error on the amp itself. Maybe it caught a surge, I had a stereo unit that got zapped by the way it was unplugged from the wall.

Strange buzzing noise

Sounds like a bad filter cap in the power supply.when you change dimmer switch the buzz changes slightly because of a different power sraw on the power supply. If you are not versed in electronic repair. Get an Estimate. Or if unit is old get yourself a new one. Good Luck
