I just subscribed to Norton 360Version 4.0 free trial windows XP/Vista/Win7 for $79.99. Now it is asking me to renew another subscription for $159.98. Not sure what's going on and what to do. Also not sure if this is the correct number. All I'm trying to do is subscribe to Norton Anti-Virus, and it appears to be charging me two different amounts.

Yes cancel your credit card before they take more money from you.

It WILL happen. Use Kaspersky www.kaspersky.com

Much more cheaper and efficient

Testimonial: "Thank you sooooooooooooooo much! I'm not too familiar with computers. Couldn't figure out why the amounts & numbers of orders kept going up. Kathy"

Kathy just to add - Check your bank statements to make sure that you have not been charged. If you have report it to the bank as unauthorized.

Also cancel your card ( a pain i know ) but it stops them from taking anymore money from your card.

Kaspersky is definatly number #1 in my opinion. And i class myself as a literate person in computing

Hope i helped you and good luck

I didn't get my 1 year protection of norton 360 version 4.0 for my netbook,,,instead i just get the 30 days trial protection,,, how can i get my 1 year norton??

You need to activate your Norton program with the product key or the renewal code that you purchased for an year.

To enter the renewal code or the serial, please open your Norton product and click on the "RENEW" or "ACTIVATE" or "SUBSCRIBE" button on the bottom of your product and enter it there to activate your one year subscription.

I renewed my subscription on 10 March, Order No. NP12650135, but continue to get reminders to renew on your reminder pop-ups. Please input my renewal to reflect that subuscription has been renewed.

This is an issue that frequently comes up. Please make sure that you have your product key from your new subscription stored (the MyNorton account is a useful place to store the data since you can cut and paste the number into Norton IS).

First check if NIS 2009 has your correct subscription information. Start the program, click on Help and Support > Subscription Status. Click Finish when that window finishes its activity.

If it is still confused, my solution is to update to Norton Internet Security 2010 (no cost to you).

One way to do this is through the Norton Update Center:
http://updatecenter.norton.com/?NUCLANG=en

The other is to use the Norton Removal Tool:
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
After the product removes all trace of any Norton product and rebooting your computer, if you have a good internet connection, it will lead you through downloading and installing the updated product. I recommend the Removal Tool since frequently the error you report is due to NIS not correctly updating the registry when the new subscription is updated.

I hope this helps.

Why is my renewal via my computer not valid-Visa has been charged

Email Norton and tell them your situation, they will tell you what to do to fix the problem seems like a problem that's more there doing than yours.
Or
  1. Start your Norton product.
  2. Do one of the following depending on your Norton product:
    • For Norton 360: Click My Account, and in the My Account window, click Renew Subscription.
    • For Norton 2009 products: At the top right corner of the window, click Help & Support > Subscription Status. Skip to Step 6.
    • For Norton 2008 products: In the bottom-left corner, click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2007 products: On the product tab, click Support, and then click Subscription.
    • For Norton 2006 products: On the Help & Support menu, click Subscription.
  3. Click I have already purchased a subscription, check my subscription status.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Next.
Your Norton product checks your subscription status. This could take a minute or two.
  6. Read the information in the Status check panel, and then click Finish.
Your subscription expiration date should now be correct.
If this helps you out, feel free to leave positive feedback. Thanks for stopping at Fixya !

Receiving pop-ups saying subscription has expired

As far as I am aware most Norton subscriptions last for one year. Have you tried contacting Norton to ask about the problem?

I have only heard of such a short subscription when the software is given away as part of a free offer with a new PC but if you have renewed a previous subscription it would normally be for one year.

Message says my subscription has expired? I purchased Internet Security from Nortons on 12/7/07 why has it expired? It appars I am no longer protected and do not understand why this is.

Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.

Norton renewal subscription

the problem lies in the registry uninstall norton 360 then re-install this clears the reg then try your key again.

my personal View Don't use norton 360 as it will slow your system down use Kespersky Internet security this is the best one out and also use avg virus program when you switch to kaspesky internet security then remove avg which you can get a free version.
