IS THE DISHWASHER CONNECTED TO A DRAIN OR A DISPOSER?
IF IT IS CONNECTED TO A DISPOSER, BE SURE THAT THE DISPOSER IS NOT RESTRICTED. I HAVE HAD NEW DISPOSERS INSTALLED AND THE INSTALLER FORGOT TO KNOCK OUT THE PLUG INSIDE THE DISHWASHER DRAIN PORT.
MOST DISHWASHERS TODAY HAVE A DEDICATED DRAIN PUMP/MOTOR ASSEMBLY. CHECK TO SEE IF THE DRAIN MOTOR IS RUNNING DURING THE DRAIN CYCLE. IF IT IS,
THERE IS MOST LIKELY A RESTRICTION SOMEWHERE IN THE DRAIN HOSE. IF THE HOSE IS COUPLED TOGETHER WTIH AN EXTENSION TO REACH A DRAIN, START AT THE
PLACE WHERE IT IS COUPLED TOGETHER.WORK YOUR WAY BACK UNTIL YOU GET A FLOW OF WASTE WATER.
THAT IS WHERE THE RESTRICTION WILL BE.
IF THE PUMP ISN'T RUNNING, CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE MOTOR TERMINALS. NO VOLTAGE, CHECK THE CONTROL. IF YOU HAVE VOLTAGE, YOU HAVE A BAD MOTOR.
SOME DISHWASHERS HAVE A DRAIN VALVE ACTIVATED BY A SOLENOID. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE AT THE SOLENOID.
NO VOLTAGE, CHECK THE CONTROL. IF VOLTAGE IS PRESENT BUT THE SOLENOID IS NOT ACTIVATED, REPLACE SOLENOID.
