There is two 1000 uF 35V elconds in the power supply. In my case they must be replaced because they have overheated and blown out. Something else could also be destroyed at the same time. I will see if changing elcods will solve the lack of power, not totally without picture, just flickering 25 Hz or something like that.

Replaced the two electrolyte capacitors one week ago. Everything seems to work normally again. No more actions required.

Will not power up

This indicates that the power board, in the TV, is not powering up at all. The quick fix is that it could be simply that the fuse is blown. To access the fuse, you will need to remove the screws on the rear of the TV and remove the entire rear panel. The fuses will be located on the board where the power cord connects. Please do not visually inspect these, but rather use a DMM (multi-meter) to test across the fuse for continuity. If one or more is found blown, then replace with one of the same type and rating from your local Hardware store.

If the new fuse does not cure the problem then, there is a failure on the power supply board inside the TV. Commonly the capacitors on this board will receive a surge and then fail. They can sometimes be visually verified by removing the rear of the set and inspecting them for bulges or leaking fluid at the top or the base of the caps. This is the most common mode of failure for these sets. The problem could also be a cracked solder joint, or failed IC regulator, in which case it would be more cost effective to replace the board itself. The Power Supply Board for your TV is "Modular" meaning that you can replace it yourself without any tools besides a screwdriver.

Hannspree JT0237E2-000G Sound but no picture have checked power supply with meter which seems to be ok so which card do i now change

main board and the other board, oh lord tv\'s are such a mess--- replace the video board which is the one with ribbon cable going to it from the lcd, the boards can be expensive so if you have time and a multimeter the you can track down the service manual and then use your meter to check certain points on the other boards for correct voltages- with each component voltage will vary, if you know the values of the components then you can calculate the voltage that should be at that point- hard work but effective and inexpensive, keep in mind something cause those parts to fail in the first place, and that something is what you wanna track down during your repair, just because a component looks ok does not mean it is, which is why that volt-o-meter is you best friend for this type work. I have way too much advice to offer so im going to shut up now--- good luck questions just ask

Then your going to have to check them with a multi meter that can handle them. Find the bad one and replace.

Lg lcd can a bad tcon board kill all power

Yes , it can be a short on the board that will ask the SMPS unit to protect the power so as to switch off. So even with a multi-meter check you will be able to trace the short on the board, the drivers or any capacitor that is cutting off the power which must solve the issue.

I have flat pannl Vizio 42" ..Watching TV...a loud crack came from TV and set went blank and will not come on...tryied reboot...still unresponsive..

I'm sorry that the TV has produced a loud crack and not turning ON. Please check the following troubleshooting steps and check the operation:

  1. Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper.
  2. Connect the TV to a different wall outlet and check the operation. (Connect it directly without using Surge Protector)
  3. Perform a power resetting and check the operation. To perform the power resetting, unplug the TV from wall outlet for more than 2 minutes and then reconnect it.
  4. If the issue persists, please open the cover of the TV and check the Power board for any burned fuse.
  5. Use a multi-meter and check whether the Power board is outputting +5V.
  6. Replace the fuses if necessary. Most Vizio TVs using fuse 0185-1302-0073(Part #).

If the issue persists, physical evaluation is required to find the exact issue. You can click hear to locate your nearest service facility to get the TV evaluated.

Thanks for understanding.

The tv keeps turning off and wont turn back on for a while.

sounds like you power supply board is going bad. Take the back cover off and check the powe supply board capacitors to see if any are bulging, leaking. Check the voltage with a multi meter reader. If you have any issues or questions please let me know.

I have the same problem described above. I followed the information above in the best solution and did a visual inspection of the capacitors. I did not observe any bulging or raised tops. Is there a multi...

Capacitors are only one problems, viewing capacitors inspections are best and easiest ways.U want to test it with a multi Voltmeter look for capacitors Microferet and voltges each one, just test it.U have no skills or trouble shooting experience in electronics devices.Well no amount testing of capacitors, will not solved the tv problems, could be any things in the power supply board is slicely variable voltages could cause power problems.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Picture went off and will not come back on the power light is on

If TV is still under warranty contact supplier, if not check for local electronic repair shops.

It could be as simple as a blown internal fuse or capacitor which can be easily repaired at a reasonable price.

If you want to inspect the inside for yourself unplug the unit and remove screws, there are high voltages present even when switched off, but you are only making a visual inspection.

Check for the smell of burning, scorch marks and compontent integrity. If you have a multi meter remove the fuse and do a resistance test.

My lg 32inch hd ready has a problem the power can't through tv i'been changed the fluge fuse yeastrday still have the same problem

You would need to get a multi-meter & check which voltage supplies are coming from the power supply to the other stages of the TV, such as the 25v / 12v / 5v supplies. If these are missing then you need to locate which regulator in the power supply has failed, if these are present then you need to establish which part of the circuit they supply eg the 25v rail for the inverter board etc. It is most likely if all the supplies are present, then there will be a fault in the main board which is not initialising the start up procedure.

No power

Yes, there will be an internal fuse & other protection devices. Even if a fuse has blown this may not be the cure, a fuse will blow because a fault has developed elsewhere in the circuit & replacing the fuse will just blow again. Again all fuses may be intact in which case you would need to trace what voltages are present & which are missing from different parts of the power supply using a multi-meter. If there is no supply from the secondary part of the power supply then a regulator transistor will be at fault. If there are voltages present then you will need to find which parts of the TV is not starting up, possibly a fault in the control board etc.
