Try one of the discs in another machine. You only need to finalise them if you want to ensure no more is put on them. To finalise a disc you need to use the write or burn functions, not the setup menu. Get the manual for this from the sharp website and read it.
You should be able to get into a list of timer recordings by this method:
1 Open “Initial Setup” menu
Press the SETUP button or the TIMER button while the DVD is in
Stop or Play mode.
2 Select “PROG”
Use the ??/?? buttons to highlight “PROG” then press the
3 Select the recording to be deleted
Use the ?? and ??/?? buttons.
Press the ?? button to move to the next setting.
The squares are the arrow keys! You should be able to delete the settings using these keys or some other key.
Next time you set a timer recording make certain you don't set the weekly setting!
> I tried recording a VHS to a DVD according to the instructions in the manual. There can hardly be instructions in the manual to do this since that model is not a DV Recorder, but if it isn't reading any DVD then you have a warranty problem assuming your unit is still within the warranty period. That unit is capable of recording DVD content to VHS tape but not the opposite.
