Kenmore 22932 Top load washer has excessive vibration at end of spin cycle

Hello, I may have a similar problem to someone you have already helped, but you told them to call you. My Kenmore 22932 washer was recently moved upstairs. Now at the end of each spin cycle, the drum vibrates so violently, it blows a 20 amp GFI. The machine is level front to back, and side to side. Could something have come loose or broken when it was moved? During the spin cycle the mach. seems to operate ok, but toward the end it vibrates so much the house shakes.

Thanks for the response. The floor was re-enforced before the washer was moved and it is stable. The noise happens at the end of the spin cycle, it's not a vibration, but rather a very loud banging sound.

The solution is at www.keshakeaway.com The problem isn't the washers, dryers or the floor per se, but in the high speed of the spin cycle. Take away the vibration and the problem is gone.

Hello,
If the Machine was moved there could be some out of aligned parts underneath. This one might actually take a phone call to explain. Either send me your number or you can call 877-717-2596 Ask for Bill

I am sure I can help you over the phone with this one. And I'm not going to charge you to call me. LOL

Thanks Again,
Bill

IF THE FLOOR IS NOT ABSOLUTELY STABLE, IT WILL MAGNIFY A SMALL VIBRATION INTO A LARGE ONE. PUT SOMETHING ON THE DRYER IF IT SETS NEXT TO THE WASHER, AND TURN ON THE WASHER INTO SPIN. IF THE ITEM ON THE DRYER SHAKES, THE FLOOR IS MOVING.
IF THE WASHER IS ON CARPET, REMOVE THE CARPET OR CUT HOLES IN IT WHERE THE FEET ARE SO IT IS NOT SETTING ON THE CARPET. THE CARPET AND PAD WILL BE TOO SOFT FOR THE WASHER TO SET STABLE.
ALSO, PICK UP ON THE REAR OF THE WASHER TO RESET THE AUTO LEVELING REAR LEGS. YOU SHOULD HEAR THEM MOVE AND RESET WHEN YOU SET THE WASHER BACK DOWN.

THERE ARE TWO THINGS I HAVE FOUND THAT CAUSE A LOUD BANGING SOUND. IF THE BALANCE RING ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF THE SPIN BASKET COMES LOOSE, IT CAN HIT THE OUTER TUB TOP GIVING A BANGING SOUND "DURING SPIN"

ANOTHER ITEM IS THE SPIN BASKET SUPPORT BLOCK.

THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY HAS TWO TABS AT THE TOP OF THE STAINLESS STEEL SHAFT. THE SUPPORT BLOCK SLIDES OVER TOP OF THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY SHAFT AND

DOWN ONTO THE TWO TABS. SOMETIMES, THE SUPPORT BLOCK GETS GROUND OFF WHERE THE TABS LOCK INTO IT AND WHEN THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED AFTER THE SPIN, THE BLOCK POPS AGAINST THE TWO TABS, MAKING A LOUD BANGING SOUND. TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BLOCK,

YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE CABINET, REMOVE THE OUTER TUB TOP, REMOVE THE AGITATOR, REMOVE THE SPANNER NUT, AND REMOVE THE SPIN BASKET. THE SPIN BASKET SETS ON TOP OF THE SUPPORT BLOCK.

Excessive vibration during spin cycle

Chck to see that all (6) suspension springs are still attached. Check the plastic snubber ring below the mechanism and above the base plate for cracks or contamination.

Be sure the washer is on a solid surface, no plywood or skid platforms. Then be sure to lock in the front levelling legs.

Kenmore series 80 washer makes loud knocking noise during spin cy

Unless your front loader is set firmly on concrete and leveled to perfection, the force of a heavy wash load spinning in excess of 1000rpm will create a bit of vibration and noise.A firm footing is your best defense against to much movement.
Also due to the earlier movements during the spin cycle, the shocks that are used to dampen the spin cycle might have been broken or damaged.
If the problem persists inspite of proper levelling, please do check for the shocks or might have them replaced them for good.
