If you are trying to burn movies that you have previously burned ,all you need to do is, use the copy function in you burning software ,ie
copy from dvd drive "D" to dvd drive "E" , or if you only have one drive
copy from dvd drive "D" to "D" and the program will tell you when to replace the dvd disc with a blank one,so it can write to it.
replace the drive letter in quotation marks with your actual drive letter,

note: quotation marks are not used.

good luck & please rate my efforts

Tried to burn a DVD using Power Cinema by going Create DVD, Author & Burn etc. Get to the end for the buring process and got a error code: FF037303. What does that mean?-

means you have a faulty or failed DVD burner (error is Power Calibration Error, returned through the ATAPI driver). Test with different /branded/ blank media, if none work then replace the drive. If you find one that works, stock up.

Problem with dvd rw

What is it doing. Are you trying to burn a dvd movie, what software are you using to try and burn it. If you are trying to burn a movie, you wont be able to unless you have the special programs to remove the copyrights and possible compress the video files to fit on the blank dvd. Most burning software wont allow buring of movies due to copyright reasons unless you do what i stated above.

From what I have found, that system should come with a DVD-RW drive by default.
  1. Check device manager, see if the drive is detected by Windows as a DVD type drive.
  2. If the drive is ID'd as a DVD drive, but will not browse a DVD movie in MY COMPUTER then there is a failure of the DVD optics of the drive and it needs to be replaced.
  3. If you can browse a DVD, but not play one, then you most likely need a DVD codec installed to read DVDs. Search google for the K-Lite Codec pack.
  4. If you are trying to burn to DVD media, ensure you have a DVD buring software installed as XP has no native DVD burn capability.

The problem you are having is the DVD player. Not all DVD players will play a burned DVD. Some set top DVD players are know for being very picky about what type of DVD's they will play, and Phillips is very bad about this.

If you have the owners manual for the DVD player, look inside and see what type of disc's are playable. if it should play them DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R. DVD+RW should all be listed.

Right now about 80% of DVD players do not play burned DVD's

In time they all will play them, but for some unknownn reason, some are still made without this ability.

Also, not all DVD-R's are created equal.

The best quality of DVD's to buy for burning are Taiyo Yuden. But Sony, memorex, and Maxell are also pretty good.

One way to be certain about the quality of the burned DVD's is to take one to a friends house or anybody you know who has a set top DVD player and see if it plays in their DVD player.

That will at least tell you if the DVD's you are burning are at fault or not. But my guess is that you r Phillips is the culprit here.

I hope this was helpful to you, if so a good rating would really be appreciated.

I have been buring DVD's since they started selling them for the PC. compatibility has been the only problem I have had.
My sony DVD player plays everything I throw at it.
