we have a Lexmark C762 that persistently jams. two pages feed and are stuck. The lead page never quite gets to the fuser. It stops about an inch short of entering the fuser. I've removed and checked the fuser and the ITU and found no scraps anywhere. The printer comes on, warms up, and starts a print job but every time the lead page stops short of the fuser.
we're working on a c762 right now in our shop, with this exact problem. we know it's not a fuser problem...i'll post what we end up doing to get it fixed.
well, i hate to admit this, but we never solved it. for the C762N we had in our shop, we're assuming the frame is tweaked just a bit (the machine i was working on had some damaged lower plastics, probably from a small 1 foot drop or so).
best of luck.
