It seems even sandisk admits there is problems with the mp3 player, It doesn't support hard re-set and only has 50-50 chance of being able to upload firmware again.

The suggested course is to soft re-set.(depress and hold power button 20 seconds) then open up and remove battery and depress power button to dissipate any stored voltage, reassemble, soft re-set again,

When I delete files from my Sansa with media player some files remain on the player, but I cannot see these files on media player or in Explorer, how can I delete these?

I think what you see as files are actually viruses and cannot be easily deleted and even if you delete, when you insert the player again, you'll still see them. So you need to scan for viruses with a good anti virus. After that you can now delete anything you want. Make sure the system itself is properly scanned for virus.

I think that my sansa e260 have a virus, which could be the solution?

Reset All
NOTE: THIS IS AN ADVANCED OPERATION AND RESTORES ALL SETTINGS
TO THE FACTORY DEFAULTS. NORMAL USERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED
TO PERFORM THIS OPERATION!
If your device freezes up press the Menu button and hold for 15 seconds.
This is like a power down of the device. Once you perform the reset, the adjustments you made during last operation
will be gone.....IF that doesn't work try to recover...download the update software and install then lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Star the update software if it doesn't start automatic goto /start /all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa hope this works.... Please rate

Virus on mp3 player

PEOPLE - Stop using the freaking WMP any #, it's a 'wimp' alright...
Just REFORMAT YOUR SANSADISK/CLIP PLAYER THEN RELOAD IT USING SIMPLE DRAG AND DROP TECHNIQUE, IT'S INTUITIVE - DON'T MAKE IT HARDER THAN IT IS, IT'S JUST A LITTLE TINY COMPUTER; BEST OF ALL IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE WINDOWS OS IN IT!!

Sansa clip 2gb lockec

First of all, may I ask if you have a mini disc player or a Sansa Clip? Because the Sansa Clip does not play discs of any kind.

If you do indeed have a Sansa Clip you will find the FAQ rather helpful here - http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs
Question 9 there is regarding devices not recognized by the PC and the solutions are as follows:
The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.
The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:
SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199
SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)
SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

Clip: Go to Settings > USB mode & choose MSC

If none of the solutions work for you, please post the results of your attempts and we can go from there.

Virus

Do you have full functionality in safemode? If so, get your hands on an anti-virus and scan your system. You might also be able to use an online virus scan, but I'd avoid the internet if you know you have a virus.

If this won't work, you can try using a linux live CD to scan for viruses... although, I wouldn't recommend that unless you have Linux or Unix experience.

If none of these solutions work, most likely, you will end up taking it to a computer repair shop.

sadly, if this is the case, there is no solution

Why???

Well maybe you got a corrupted file on it. Scan your files with your anti virus software. If that isn't the case then change the batteries (AAA). If none of these solutions work then go to some technical support and ask if they can open it. Mine is having headphone problems so these things have problems quite oftenly.
