Question about PC Desktops

I bought an Acer Extensa 2303WLM computer about four years ago, but due to a recent virus on my computer I had to have a local technician reinstall my computer, because it was the only way to remove the virus. I got my computer back tonight and have found that some of the programs on the computer when I first bought it are no longer there. How would I go about attaining for free certain programs like Arcade 3.0, NTI CD & DVD-Maker Gold and Power Producer which were there originally but were lost in the reinstallation process?

You must have the re-installation CD's that came with your computer. Otherwise, they will not be obtainalbe for free.

I bought an acer 23" all in one computer from a local box store less than one month ago. I have had many issues. I think this computer may have been previously sold as I see data dating back to 6/10/09. ...

Sometimes it takes computers years to sell off the shelf of a store. All the software will show a date of when it was preloaded. You figure you wait for production, shipping, then a consumer. Most likely it isn't a restock. If you call Acer they might be able to tell you when the computer was assembled, but that may be it.

System restore utility not getting activated by known methods

I'm a certified computer tech and have been doing this for years. system restore often causes more problems than it fixes. I recently ran into this issue on a friends computer. upon investigating his computer was infected with a nasty virus that infected all of his restore points. go to housecall.antiviurs.com or another security website and run a free online virus scan. check that first, if that isn't the problem try manually going into system restore and running it (start > all programs> Accessories > System Tools > system restore). it may be able to be fixed with the system restore. if not you may want to consider either taking it to a technician or backing up your files and reloading the comptuer.

You must have come in contact with a virus. Does your friend have the capability of slaving your hard drive to his to remove your data. If so, then he or you can reinstale the operating system.

Driver missing

I think the virus was not yet deleted in your system and the virus are blocking some of the drivers in your computer, format your computer in normal way. And try re-installing it.

We bought Acer TravelMate 2420 almost 2 years ago without recovery CD and now we need this CD so bad and we don't know what to do. We have a virus and we need to restore the Laptop but we can't without...

Contact acer or check their website they should have a disk you can either download or order, they might charge to order it though to do a full wipe of the system and reinstall. otherwise you can di a full format and install from scratch with the OS of your choice. but that would leave you to search for the required drivers.
