Question about Toshiba 32DF46 32" TV

Vertical Collapse Problem

Hi...I have the same problem on my Toshiba 32DF46 with the vertical collapse. I was able to find the service manual online with all the part diagrams and such. But it does not tell me exactly where the vertical section is. Would you know by looking at these schematics? Here is the link to the free schematics I found http://www.audiolabga.com/pdf/32DF46.pdf

Any help would be appreciated....Thanks

Hi
Please check around vertical outpu IC for bad solder joints and you can try to replace the electolitic capacitors in vertical output line. Check if vertical plug (which comes from deflexion coils) is well attached in place.

Cause of vertical collapse on glendale tv chassis

collapse means just a white line left to right in middle of screen--usually a bad solder connection at the vertical output chip or a bad part in that area.

I tried to fix my tv and accidentally hit v- something (last page of service menu). Now There is a horizontal green line in the middle of the screen. How Can i fix it?

V stands for vertical output. You have a vertical collapse. Go back to service menu, and set range for vertical. Or you can try factory reset.

I have a 35in Toshiba tv and it come on but have a stright line in the middle of tv.

HELLO

If the line is VERTICAL and at the centre of the screen it is called LINE COLLAPSE, but when the line is HORIZONTAL this is called FIELD COLLAPSE.

It may be dry joints on the field/frame output IC or it may have gone open circuit. I know that the field/frame output IC's can be obtained, but if you are no good with a soldering iron then you'll have to put it in for service.

GOOD LUCK WITH IT (:-)

No picture. Just a vertical line accross the screen.

When this kind of set comes in for this problem, it is typically caused by a leaky/intermittent diode D402, located next to the heat sink for the vertical deflection IC. I will typically also replace the vertical deflection IC at the same time, just to avoid repeat failures.

Vertical line across picture tube on my Symphoic model WF2703.

Is it just folded over with a thin line of light thru the middle of screen. It is a vertical collapse. Vertical Ic is loosing connection with the board or failing Already. resolder first then see if it can actually solve it. If not check capacitor or neighboring components within vertical circuit or replace the vertical IC and check if this solves the problem.

If your not inclened in electronics, have it service by a qualified one.

I would love to save the TV. Hi nothing to worry just minimise brightness to avoid screen burn. "Vertical Collapse?" means one bright hor.line in the middle of screen. this problem can be solved 1 check vertical yoke connector or wire loose 2 check supply to vertical section which normally comes from EHT transformer check components in vertical section or print loose regards thanks
