Lookour onboard VGA has gone unserviceable, this can be rectified by putting PCI VGA card in PCI slot ...also try out the resulation setting by trying ur PC on other monitor.

Hello antwaun42

What needs to be done 1st, is to determine if the issue is hardware or software-related.

It doesn't matter what order you do the following in.

(01) Determine if the issue is w/ your monitor hardware. You can do this in one (or both) of two ways.

(A) Plug your current monitor into another computer whose video (display) is working fine.

(B) Plug a different (known working) monitor into the computer where you are experiencing the issue.

(02) Determine if the issue is "drivers"-related. To do this, boot your computer into "Safe Mode" and see if the problem persists. If it does, then the problem is likely hardware-related. If it doesn't, then there is a drivers-related issue. We can help you w/ that as well.

HERE is a link that will detail how to get into Safe Mode if yours is a Microsoft Windows-based operating system.

Please, let us know if this response was helpful for
you or, of course, if you have any further questions.

Thank you
BJ

In the case of step (01), if the problem follows the monitor (to the other computer that you connect it into) then you know the problem is with the monitor itself.

If, however, the problem persists even w/ a different monitor connected to the computer you are experiencing the issue on, then you know the issue is not w/ the monitor.

In this case, it's still undetermined if the issue is hardware or software-related. (The issue could be w/ your video adapter expansion card or w/ drivers.)

If you haven't done so already at this stage, try step (02) (booting into Safe Mode) to see if the issue persists.

Hello there , i d like to express my problem here , with the hope to find a solution . I have an LG L1730s monitor for about four years . Recently i had a video card burn and i changed it with a new one ....

Hi
I've repaired a lot of these monitors and every one seemed to do something strange. In this case my first thought is that somehow he monitor firmware got zapped when the card was damaged. Although this could certainly fall into the category of an open ground in the cable. My suggestion at this point would be to take it to a reputable repair person and get their estimate or take a look at www.micromendllc.com.

Screen "Flashes" on/off

You could have a faulty CCFL lamp or inverter, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

You can either try to reset the BIOS, or have the restore cd fix it for you. By the way, what does the message say?

Monitor goes black but shows icons...

I'll assume this is an LCD panel screen.

If what you are saying is the screen shows up and then goes dim or starts dim, and you can see a dark image of the system starting up and then displaying Windows...

Your problem is a bad CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) at the top of the LCD panel.

If the screen is totally blank, then it may be the power inverter.

You can find many websites that sell these parts, but make sure you have the right model.

If you feel comfortable with working on computers, you can replace this part yourself. Otherwise, you may want to pay a technician to do it. Make sure to get a fixed price quote before authorizing the work

Here is a website on LCD repair for laptops, but it the same principal for display monitors.
