Do you have DVD software installed eg: power DVD?

yes I have dell cineplayer dvd program installed on this pc.
still wont read dvd this device will read cd roms. any ideas?
correct software installed,

help?

depending on the drive it can be your upper and lower registry filters, use this link at your own risk and whenever you work in regedit, make sure you create a recovery point before hand!
